Carly: Ongoing Thread to Discuss Issues.

Could not find one when searching, so I figured I would start a thread dedicated to Carly issues.

Went to do some coding on my 13 135i.

Can not seem to find a way to get my LED sidemarker/turnsignals to stop the bulb check flash. The lights are from the company that shall not be named here. Any ideas?

My main problem, is that since I did some light coding, my high mount brake light now flashes at startup like a bulb check. I did not change any of the settings for the brake lights. Even reinstalled the initial save file for the FRM. Brake light flashing continues. Any ideas? Did the save file not save the settings properly?

Note: I am using V2 of the Carly adaptor with an iPhone.

You need to set the voltage check/safety off on all keys. Probably for all lamps too.

Damn. Sucks loosing that factory function, but will give it a whirl.

Since you only mentioned changing out the sidemarkers for LEDs, I would try disabling the voltage check on those only first. That way you'll retain the function on other (IMO) more critical lamps. Just be sure to disable it on all keys.

Yes, disabled it on all keys for that function. What I really don't get is why my factory high mount now does a bulb check, even after reinstalling the original data file.

Perhaps need to check settings of alternate brake signal pattern. I think it will flash if set to the alt.

I vaguely recall playing w/ the settings when I first got the Carly app, and I remember causing myself some issues w/ how the lighting worked.

When I unlock the car, my halos, license plate lights, and tail lights have a soft turn on which I like. Playing around w/ the app, I made a settings change to something unrelated but in that same code group, and then lost those effects. I spent an hour or more trying to go back to the original file (didn't seem to work), and resetting everything and making those changes 1 by 1 until I hopefully got things to work again (didn't seem to work either)

If I remember correctly, I basically gave up that night, unplugged the BT module, shut down the app, and so on. Tried again the next night and it more or less worked right away without me doing anything.

My take-away was that I'd run into a wall of sorts and was not actually making the changes I thought I was making. But basically starting over made it work right away.

Wish I had more facts or detail.
