Yes i know that i must change the footwell module, but for my car, the right one it's supposed to be the 61359128184 (before facelift). As you know my car is from 2004, do you think that's ok to change to a more recent one (footwell module 2) 61359240540.
By the way, the Headlights xenon are ALC.
Thanks for helping.

Please explain what you have done to your headlights first. Have you used the bmw oem retrofit harness or have you just removed your halogens and installed the xenons without changing any wiring?

When the proper wiring harness is used, a new FRM module is required as the standard FRM ('BASIS') used for halogen equipped 1ers cant handle the xenon coding. Once a new FRM3 with 'MAX' coding ability is installed, ncs can be used to code the VIN, VO and coding to the module and the Angel Eyes will be DRLs by default.

we don't use oem harness. we moved the existing wires from pin to pin in the footwell module. Then, encode the module and its works in vehicles with frm2 but with frm3, AE's dont work.

The only solution is change the footwell module?

If the FRM3 is from a halogen based car, then you will need to replace it. I had a FRM3 but it wasnt able to be coded to use the $522 Xenon VO code (the low beams worked but no high beam shutter or AEs).

You will need a new 'MAX' FRM3 that can be coded to anything a e8x can be coded to.

Also, did you tap a ground wire into pin 2?

Just finished installing the retrofit (I have AHL headlights), everything OEM, and according to the manual instructions. Although I have some issues.

1. The corner lights go on when i switch on the high beams
2. the high beams only work when i flash
3. The foglights are always on.
4. The interior lights dont't turn on.
5. The headlamp washers don't work.

I haven't coded yet. Maybe that's the problem, what do you guys think about it?

I purchased a new 2012 128i on Saturday. Absolutely love the car. Is it possible to add OEM Xenons to a 2012 as well? If so, any recommendations on the best place to source the parts?

If you like the euro look (clear corners, no amber) send a pm to Thomas (username Jori). I ordered a set from him and could not be happier. Depos are another option if you want to go aftermarket. The setup from Thomas is OEM (euro-spec).

im starting to like the 1 series!
saw this thread and thought i would make a recommendation. have gone thru this with my e90 and been thru the worst. IMO, its not worth risking it bc one screw up its 3k out of pocket. Jay and Damon have have done their time unsure how long but they know these lights inside out. I have third set i have bought from jay and each one been flawless and a true plug and play. with that said, when i was visiting socal i saw the beta on his car and damn its best thing ive seen. tanks to these guys as we can now enjoy oem spec conversions. dont waste ur time especially if u have warranty. jay will give u advise how to go around it and he was right 99% they have no clue its been converted and thats how close they haave converted them to oem.

Please PM or post more info about this. I have no idea who these people are or what kind of product you are talking about

Seems interesting and not DEPOs!

He is referring to ***************.com. Spoke with Jay via email but was able to determine a workaround (full functionality, granted they setup is static). Dynamic (adaptive) would have cost more and been a PITA IMO.

How easy is it to install depos, and how to they compare to spyder headlamps? They seem to be the two options online and I would love input from anyone. I have the stock halos and want to upgrade to a projector headlamp with angel eyes. Thanks again.

You mean ***************.com has a working E82 conversion that is plug-and-play?

Looks like it, however looking at their prices seems a little crazy for just new lights. (~$2500) for the conversion

I am not sure if that even covers coding/install and the lights you get with them aren't even OEM?

I asked because I emailed a few months ago and as of then, he didn't have anything for the E82/E88. According to his site, he offers a kit where the customer supplies the lights. I would assume this is much less expensive.

Oh gotcha. So he just does the wiring/coding work + install the special harness. Seems interesting I have a guy near me that offered to do the conversion for $500 for the set of lights (I am thinking if I provided him with the xenons).

The programming and harness is unnecessary if you can live w/o the adaptive feature. I sourced the euro housings (with bulb and ballast) from Thomas (username Jori). The rest of the task required relocating the high beam pin for the shutter and adding a ground wire for the xenons. The flicker issue can be fixed with a capacitor. Wired the cap using 9006 plugs to keep the setup clean in the engine bay. The 9006 connections allow for a quick replacement should the capacitor wear out in the future.

You may have done so already, but can you detail what pin you moved and to where, and where you added the additional ground? Also, couldn't the flicker issue be solved by adding xenons to the VO via NCS Expert?
