Cost Of Stock 1m Front Bumper
Would anyone happen to know where I can find the cost of the parts of our cars... I am curious how much the front bumper is...

I got 2 repair estimates for a new bumper here in Toronto. Not sure of the reason for the discrepancy, but one listed it at $667.23 and the other at $986.45.
Something fell off a truck in front of me on the highway, so thankfully insurance is covering the fix. |

Someone stopped short in front of me with a tow hitch and in return punctured by front bumper. I am very upset, and on edge since this has happened and just want a perfect car again. I feel like I am constantly getting reminded not to stress the small stuff but I have a hard time not being a perfectionist... Oh well. It is a car and will get repaired, it could have been worse, and everyone is okay.. happend at around 5-10 mph

Don't worry, it's just a front bumper on a 1M. I also would get it repaired asap. Things could be much worse, like this (published earlier today):

I fight this fight nearly every day with customers, and of course I am the " insurance guy that wants to cheat them" but I have seen plastic repairs and even PROVEN to some customers how good the repair is. You've got two cuts on two body lines... but the material is still there.. hopefully it can be repaired. Really simple stuff for a shop. Make sure you work with a shop that has a good recommendation and hopefully offers a lifetime warranty. If you end up replacing with new... SAVE that bumper cover... put that bad boy on ebay. Jeez guys... quit wrecking your cars... I haven't even GOT mine yet and I feel like my rates are going up! Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 08-05-2011 at 08:57 AM.. |

Bingo... Dayum I'm good!
bmw13.. sorry about your damage as well... if the piece of plastic from the indentation of the bumper hitch is still there, and not punched out (often times a square hole is left from a recieiver hitch) then yours may also be able to repaired.... if it's punched a hole.. then will have to probably be replaced. good luck.. |

For the most part, what has been pushed in a little is still connected aside from the initial bottom tear and side tears. But it is very much still attached..

I'm no bodywork expert, but I was surprised to hear that myself. I look at it and wonder why some filler and sanding wouldn't make it good as new. I didn't want someone messing with my car to the extent of replacing the whole bumper, but I was told it was necessary. Regardless, I think like you do and already got the old one in my office - thinking of hanging it on the wall and calling it art Last edited by blotto649; 08-05-2011 at 10:00 AM.. |

I think this is because a lot of us can not stop driving! The probability is much higher for something to occur the more you are on the road and I absolutely love this thing! I already have 2,700 mls on the car and I picked it up with just 4...

OOOOFF... that sucks.. looks like the bumper cover is toast, and also it appears the styrofoam bumper reinforcement is going to have to be replaced as well .. :-(
