Infant Car Seat Help!!!!
Hi there folks.
So I've got a 7-week old, and its time to take her out in the 135i. The problem is, I couldn't get our new Maxi-Cosi Infant car seat to install properly. I got the base reasonably tight using the LATCH connectors, but if you pull up on the front of the base, without much effort the entire piece comes loose. If anyone has suggestions for either getting this thing to work, or know of any infant car seats that work I would appreciate it. The car seat is brand new so I shouldn't have any issues returning it. |

I don't know anything about car seats, but I have heard that any fire department will help you get it installed. So you could try that or go to your dealership.

I've got the Maxi-Cosi in mine and don't have problems with it. I did put a folded towel under the base to keep from marking the seats, so that might give a bit more traction. I also had to get into the back seat to really hank on the belt to make sure it was good and tight. It's not going anywhere now. Check with your local FD/PD - they might be able to help you with the installation.

I use a Graco booster seat for my 6 year old. I don't use the latch anchors but just the booster seat with the seat blet from the car. The base of the seat has to be twisted slightly off to the side for the seat belt. It sits at a 15 degree angle maybe so it isn't a big deal.

I had the maxi cosi infant car seat and I could get it to fit, but the front seat would have to be all the way forward. ( the Latch system seamed to work fine )
this seat is not too 1'er friendly my son is now 1 year old and I'm trying to find a seat that would fit back there!!

Hooray for an old thread!!!
I'm going to be a father next week. I have a Teutonia t-tario 35, but I can't install it on either side without having the corresponding front seat uncomfortably forward (I'm not small, and at this point my fiancee isn't either). Has anyone tried installing a rear-facing infant car seat base in between the back seats? Using the inner LATCH attachments, I get a good snug fit, and both front seats can maintain their normal position. Plus I can peek back over my shoulder and see the what will be the top of my baby's head

I am in Australia, my son's seat wont fit. The base is too wide and fowls the tapered rear part of the rear seat base. Anyone have idea's as to what seat actually fits! for now we are using the other car when the kids come with - not fair really!

When I had my daughter's babyseat backwards facing, it was a very tight squeeze. Once I turned it around, it fit just fine. The latch system fit perfectly fine for both front and rear facing. And there is always gonna be some play in the seat (moving or wiggling). The seat I have has a piece that can move from the front or back to help adjust fitment w/different seat styles. And I went to my local fire department for installation. And there is always a toll free customer support number on the babyseat label. Hope this helps.

Dackel, Those seats are from the European accessories catalog. From RealOEM: "Not approved for use in Australia, Canada, USA and Korea." Not to mention they probably cost a fortune! |

Ohh wow that sucks. Sorry I did not know that. So... if you go ask your local USA dealer... they do not sell any child seats? ??? I know I have even seen baby Recaro child seats sold over here for like 400 euros! lol Once I saw a baby stroller for 1,200 euros at a store that came with WINTER ad SUMMER tires! lol That took the cake!
