Article is absolutely accurate and what I tell anyone that asks me about my 1M....

1M steering is just much, much, much better than anything provided on newer Mcars. There is also a noticeable feel in the smaller overall size and weight of the 1M. Those factors make a huge difference in my enjoyment of the car. In addition; less nannies, no rev-matching, almost unpredictable torque/traction, classic gauges, manual only, no frills, thrill machine

They are both special cars, in different ways, with the 1M being arguably one of the greatest M cars of the second decade of this century (if not all time). They have elegant power that's very different than the more brutal power of the present M cars. As the first generation M2 goes out production, despite its numb steering, it seems unlikely that BMW will be able to recreate the driving experience associated with these two cars.

Great read....agree!
I am considering an M2CS....but I don't think it could replace the 1M. I have to figure out if I have room for two.
