Might want to get it checked out, the top does go out alignment every so often, that may have set the windows off a little bit. |

Unfortunately, the only Porsche I'd consider as a replacement is a GT3. I spent last weekend riding shotgun (instructing) at VIR in a 997S. Don't think I'd give the 1 up for that one, but the GT3 is whole different animal. Take BMW mod prices and double them for that car.

Quite the contrary actually... I appreciate the car more and more each day.
Right after purchase, I got a little worried about the HPFP. Really though, I don't ever take it on trips and i have both BMW Roadside Assistance and AAA. Driving it is so consistently amazing that I don't even think about the HPFP anymore... and the car has been rock solid on reliability so far. I just love my little Bimmer! |

That out of balance feeling? Definitely tires, are you running directional winter tires? Check those arrows and make sure they were mounted properly.

My 2008 128i couple had an annoying rattle for 10,000 miles, somewhere in the headliner I thought..... so I finally asked the dealer and he agreed, they figured out there was a rattle in the sunroof due to a bad weld. They replaced the entire sunroof "cartridge" under warranty and that was that! I drove the car to 22,000 miles and traded her in for a 135i coupe, which I love even more.
Definitely addicted, can't stop waxing and detailing...... |

YMMV, but I'm a convertible person. My first car was a vert (VW Cabriolet), then I switched over to a 4-door sedan (S420), then a mid-size SUV (ML350) and I'm happiest now in my 128i convertible! |

Boy I've grown to resent this car even more since the day I started this thread.
Yesterday I shelled out $900 for two new run flat tires. One had a screw in it... the other had been damaged by a pothole. Hard to justify making the high payment on a car I'm no longer in love with. Need to break up with this thing once and for all. Will practice my "it's not me, it's you" speech. |

You're bringing that on yourself. As long as you continue to buy run flats, you're going to have problems. Do yourself a favor and switch to regular tires and stop paying the abusrd prices for substandard product. |

Thanks for the advice. At this point I'm feeling the BMW itself is the substandard product, when taking into account all the other issues with my car.

I think the next generation 1er will be something worth having for sure, but I am going to have to make a decision, based on my lease ending, before it is available--like the 1M or SS or whatever....those, in theory, sound awesome.... QUOTE] anyone know exactly when the next-gen 1er will be out in the u.s.? i know that the coupe won't be out 'til about 2013 but what about any other body style? |
