Back to stocks.......

I'm still trying to figure out how the F*%$ did I do this on the inside of the wheel. L/F. And since this rim model from Falken has been discontinued for over 2 years now, they're going in the trash Now I know why I had a slow leak.

Now to find a rear set of BMW Style 197 rear wheels since I have a front set.

Looks like the inside edge caught something like the side of a deep pot hole or road deformity. I know A62 has from time to time gotten bubbles in the road surface and they have to come out and remove and fill them. They look like they're 3-6" bubbles. Maybe it was something like that. That really sucks Nick.

Rimas, I checked but was advised against it because it would have messed with the integrity of the metal and weakened it. And these wheels weren't TUV approved in Germany so Falken never sold them here. Now I can see why.

I'm probably not gonna get another set of aftermarket wheels unless I can't find the rear set of the BMW Style 197's i'm looking for.

Ever notice why American cars sold over here thru legit dealers never have the USA style wheels on them. TUV. Just about every Chevy or Ford sold in the states has to have "new different" wheels in order to meet TUV's strict standards.

Just think Nick - what could have happened at speed IF that wheel had failed. Very scary. I have heard stories of people driving around in the summer time with snow tires, or non TUV wheels, or non-speed (cars in the USA do not need to have speed rated tires - they only need to go 85 mph for 15 minutes without failing!!)rated tires at Autobahn speeds... only to have a massive failure. Stick with legit (TUV) wheels.

I bent an OZ Superturismo like that on a pothole in Baltimore, still held air though, it was TUV certified, 45 series tires as well.

What's the deal with speed rated tires in the US, isn't it on the buyer to replace tires with ones that are properly rated for the application? You screw it up and it's attributed to the tire being used incorrectly, insurance doesn't cover. Like my KM2s on my FJ, they're a lower speed rating then the tires that came on the vehicle, but I certainly won't be taking the vehicles speed up to anywhere near the Q rated limits of them.

Shure... you can bent every Wheel. At least you Remember the Pot Hole
But Nick doesent know why... thats the Problem.

In german Law its, if your Car does 200kph, you need Wheels that must be max. 210kph... no matter if you just drive in the City 80kph max

Otherwise --> no TÜV --> no Insurance --> Bad Idea!!
