Automotive News

Info re: the 1-Series. Old news, but I thought post it.

BMW plans to use its entry-level 1 series to win back lost customer groups in the United States. Some BMW fans turned their backs on the brand as the 3 series got bigger and more luxurious over the past 20 years.

BMW's 1-series coupe will debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September, and North American sales will start in October.

Interesting how they state that N/A sales start in October.

October? Doubtful. PR/Marketing machine would be at full throttle right now.

You will be able to special order in October for March delivery. March 22nd is the North American launch date.

European deliveries begin in October. La Auto Show will preview the 1 series in North America.

Published test drives should be out later in the year.

Sorry...ordering will not be available until Jan/Feb '08 (best case scenario). That is if BMW releases 128i/135i allocation to BMW Centers at that time. Allocation is released two months prior to the build month.

Samo here. Just goes to show you. Sounds like the AN writer mixed European dates up with N/A.

What's the best guess as to when we'll see a U.S. dealersheet? Prices/options/etc.
& Where's Irv btw?

1-Series Coupe ordering guides should be available on CenterNet prior to specification (allocation being released).

Just so we're TOTALLY clear, deliveries to European resident customers begins in October, correct?

This doesn't apply to Americans doing ED (not the Viagra type!), correct?

Yes, but it apparently varies as November has also been mentioned.

Correct...
