Added a PWR radiator to the list. Still on the hunt for an oil cooler. Im trying to source a used VK motorwerks kit and upgrading the core to a setrab unit.

If that doesnt keep the oil temp in check, I will try running another oil cooler in front of the radiator (since ar's unit doesnt bolt in) in series, so the cooler oil is running through the aux oil cooler behind the grills (minimizing heat transfer to the coolant, i dont know how much it matters, but it sounds good in my head.)

Im so excited to get started!

Did you see this catch can system...only $125 for the universal small....I asked the company and they said it should fit our 1s.

so today was the third day of work, its going alright except for the subframe bushings, and the order i haven't received because it shipped a month late from hpa.

I'm gonna see if i can get Klaus Peter to replace the bushings when he does my alignment. I really wish my shiny new toe arms were on the car now though.

He said the bushings dont fit. It doesnt even look like he tried, they are all clean, and still have the stickers on them. I paid over 500 euro for an alignment, and for him to tell me the bushings dont fit. I dont even know how good the alignment was. one camber plate is maxed out, one is sitting in the middle, with the tire sticking out 1/2" past the fender. Im pretty upset. That was the second and last time i will ever take my car there. The first time was when i had the coilovers installed. I should have taken it as a bad sign when he spend 45 minutes telling me the coilovers wouldnt fit my car, and after i insisted that they would, he called KW, and the told him they were the right part number for an E82. Then he installed the rear adjuster upside down (in the camber arm instead of in the frame). I will have the alignment rechecked at a shop i can actually trust.

All i hear is how he is the best guy for bmw's and mini's, but he has utterly failed to impress me. Ive thrown away enough money there. My car will never return, and i will never recommend anyone to take their lawnmower there, much less their car.

I know building a car is not without hickups, but that is just unacceptable to me. Im getting my fenders rolled thursday, and i will ask him to take a look. I triple checked the part #'s on the bushings i ordered from dan@united, and they are the same bushings everyone else in the world is putting into their 1ers.

On a side note, one of my new tires is not holding air. Its getting taken back to the shop tomorrow to see what the deal is. Hopefully they didnt tear the sidewall putting the tire on. its a 255 on a 9.5, nothing crazy. But they did a great job not damaging the powdercoating. I know mistakes happen, all that matters to me is how they are corrected.

And, i pulled my codes this weekend, and its my hpfp. long cranks, misfires, down on power, everything. Hopefully i can get it repaired under warranty without taking off too many of my mods. I just dont want the dreaded dme update that everyone else is getting.

Dropped my car off at BMW today for the HPFP. they looked up the recall and typed up a work order no problem. Now as long as they dont shit themselves when the see all the mods, im good. I didnt take anything off.

I always went there instead of the K-town dealer. The Landshtul guys treat you alot better than the Jackrod that works parts in teh K-town dealer.

Nice, build! Looks to be a lot of suspension work that you are doing to the car. I'm pretty sure it will be a blast on the track. How do you like the SSK and BMS WW? Thinking about ordering this before shipping my car.
