I also wear 13s. Boots are awkward, but the worst are my Acorn slippers, the sheep fleece kind, which tend to get caught under the brake sometimes in my E46. I am hoping that the E90 foot space is no worse than the E46. I love bimmers because the ergonomics fit tall people well.

You know when I started this thread, I had a feeling it would go in this direction!!! But it kinda is a problem. I like to look snazzy and tend to dress with more of a "dress shoe" and I was a little pissed off I spent $85.00 on a pair of shoes I can't really drive with. I guess the key here is next time, I gotta make sure the shoes are thinner. |

Driving a manual with flip-flops doesnt work well for me. I need something that stays firm on my feet. Is it just me.

Fllip-flops, slides, etc. don't work for me since switching to manual transmission.
When i got my e90 at the end of August, I practically threw out all my foot wear except for my Puma's. They're my gold standard for driving shoes! |

I have 13's and i drive with sandels. just slip them off and drive with your socks.. It's alot better with no shoes on anyway.
P.S. if you get the rubber mats it worse.

Have you ever worn anyy tennis shoes that actually help? This is why I wear flip flops. People say that wearing shoes with arches will actually help -- but i feel that it doesnt. I wear flip flops because its flat and it just makes me more comfortable. |

I would wear flip flops all the time if I could, but it's getting too cold to wear them. I still wear them occassionally when I don't feel like wearing shoes. I don't drive a manual, but I drove my friend's car when I was wearing flip flops. It was fine for me.

I haven't worn flip-flops since my college days when I had to use dorm showers. First of all, it's bad enough finding regular shoes in a size 13, but flip-flops are even more difficult. Besides, I don't want to go walking around with "Fred Flinstone feet".
But back to the original topic...I have never had a problem with my feet getting stuck between pedals and I have worn many different types of shoes (except for snow boots) in my car. I haven't done much "heel and toe" driving in my car. If I did, it would be more of a "big toe and little toe" maneuver. But I think that having a big foot helps with the clutch though. My left food never needs to leave the floor when using the clutch. So, instead of using my leg to release and press the clutch, I keep my heel on the floor and simply pivot my ankle to press and release the clutch. Michael
