Damaged Bumper from ECS Tuning

Has anyone else gotten a damaged bumper from ECS Tuning? Mine was so poorly packaged and I was on vacation when it arrived and from what it seems like ECS is now telling me cool story.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so what came out of it? I loved ECS before and never had any issues.

Any body shop guys know if this is fixable? Its right on the edge so it would be a tricky job most likely.

Did you contact the shipping company? looks like this had a rough trip.

I worked for UPS in college unloading semi's and they always talked about the huge $$ they paid out on claims for damaged packages.

That should clearly be a shipping claim issue. They should contact whoever shipped the bumper for them, and as long as they insured the shipment, you should be able to at least have them get you a new one. It sucks that something like this happens, but unfortunately, its a part of the business. Especially with larger items that you have to basically build a box for to make it fit.

I wouldn't put the blame on ECS. Shipping company was clearly too rough with it.

It was shipped by R&L carriers. I guess ECS is going to contact them and see what they can do.

I will certainly keep you guys updated!

Thanks for the info too!

Don't blame ECS for shipping. But they should definitely be playing a role in helping you get this resolved. I have shopped with them on multiple occasions and when I had any issues they always helped me. Lets see if they can carry on the same customer service.

Since ECS dealt with the shipper they have to resolve this with them. As the recipient there's nothing you can do but wait. ECS should get a check from them and ship you a new one.

Damaged freight claims are usually the responsibility of the recipient. Usually you'll be SOL if the person signed for the package without noting damage, or at least putting "subject to inspection" when signing. Good luck.

I bought a trunk spoiler off ebay and the box showed up at my house bent in half. I already knew it was broken before opening. I contacted UPS along with the seller and UPS took responsibility and paid for a new one. Took longer than I had liked but in the end I got it in one piece. ALSO. make sure you document everything and take pics of the packages (the more the better) they will have you submit them for the claim.
