DP's on, but it's not over yet
During fitment an exhaust leak was discovered where the DP's meet the MP's. The problem appears to be the OE MP flange, which is slightly bowed, resulting in an exhaust leak. You can see the carbon buildup on the stock DPs but it could be worse on the CP-E given the size difference. APC are going to fix this on Monday for me by fitting new flanges with thicker bolts so everything mates up nice and solid.
The noise from the leak wasn't very noticeable on the drive home, but it's not something I'd leave be. Pre-dyno run was 232rwkw, there's a post dyno scheduled for Monday when it gets fixed up. Props to Sean and Nic at APC for their work today and professional attitude to the install (on what can be a bitch of a job). |

Thanks guys.
No chance to find out coming home in rush hour :*( Once the exhaust leak is fixed and I know that's not an issue, I'm more interested in changes to throttle response and turbo behaviour. Final dyno numbers will be interesting for the sake of shits and giggles. I can then measure the difference the FMIC will make after that when it goes on. Shame my stock dyno run three years ago wasn't done on the same dyno. |

199. Still have the chart, just never scanned it. Bear in mind different dyno, different altitude (it was done in Toowoomba) and different weath conditions of course.

In terms of engine mods, I use a Rev3 PROcede (unmodified 11/25 Stage 1map with NLS/2step) with a few other bits and bobs- BMC Flat Panel filter, ER CP (post 09 version) and Forge DDV's. Should probably bump up to the Stage 2 map now. |

APC finished the work on the car today and it's running beautifully.
Dyno run after CP-E DP's went in showed 248kW ATW. Boost was max of about one atmosphere/ 15psi. I'll post the chart later tonight when I get home. Last edited by MikeVictor; 12-19-2011 at 02:58 AM.. |

Update on difference DP's make in my eyes after having driven for a week with them on-
Well responsiveness seems to have improved somewhat, which is good it was one of the outcomes I was after. But to be perfectly honest I can't say I can tell a huge difference between 232 and 248kW. From an ear-candy perspective, it's quite nice when you're driving around politely and it mates well with my Remus system, however if you stab the loud pedal and get it over 4k RPM it just comes alive! Amazing stuff and I'm glad to have them on. |
