Projector removal DIY? Need to swap cut off shields.
How hard is it to remove the projector housing from these and either swap the whole projector or even just the cut off shield? Can I do it without separating the front plastic?

You need to seaparate the headlight lens from the housing before being able to swap out the projector. There is a thread a little ways down created by me titled, "white or amber angel eyes" where i give a couple options to separating the headlight housings.

Thanks for the reply on this! Is it a pretty clear cut scenario once the housing is opened then?
Also, is there anywhere you can order individual parts (cut off shields, projector lenses, etc.) or does BMW only sell the entire housing as a piece?

They provide clear lens for our projectors. They can also provide, help or point you in the right direction for cutoff shields. Do research and test thoroughly if ur planning on going through with this. Its not an easy task and light output could be affected negatively in a severe sense if not done properly. Should be fun though!

Cool. I've purchased clear lenses from TRS before for my Audi retrofit so I'm not too inept when it comes to doing these kinds of things.
This is me doing research, unfortunately there's about zero documentation on people disassembling the projector and I can't find any exploded views of the internals on the headlights to know what the cut off shield even looks like.

That's because you could probably count on one hand how many people have personally taken their lenses off their headlights. Total PITA on this assembly from what I understand.
There are a couple businesses doing headlight retrofit jobs, at a huge premium, and people seem content to pay them.
