What are your plans for more tire? You're kind of maxed out under STx rules.

Correct, however I'm limited to a 9" wheel. Currently I'm running 17x8.5 ET40 on a 245/40 RS3 squared. As you can see, this is not an ideal setup. I'm running a 5mm spacer up front to clear the strut. I can easily get 265 in the rear on a 9" wheel with a proper offset, but they don't make 265 in a 17" diameter so this isn't possible. Nor do I want to go to 18" So, likely I'll get custom wheels and spec my offset so I'm just barely clearing the strut up front, but maintaining space within my outer fender to avoid rubbing (I rub under some extremely high compression). So this is a really big concern of mine. The rear will be easy. Just finding what fits up front (offset wise). Oh...and I need money to buy custom LTW wheels. Clearance up front: |

Not ST legal. We have to with stock body + fender roll, but no pulling/reforming.

You might just need to do more fender work. If I dont rub with 255s on an 8.5 and 3* camber, there's no reason you should with 245s. Most of my rub was at the fender/bumper joint, but I see you can't technically "pull" or cut unsightly things per the letter of the rule. I run SP so its not an issue.

Also, 255s on 8.5* is not much wider than a 245 tire. The width constricts the actual section width on the tire. If I do any more fender work, I'll be changing the contour of the fender, which is illegal. I want to figure out a way to fit the tire without changing my ride height. I need the car low up front to maximize front grip. |

You're buddy-buddy with Kale and TCK guys. Why don't you just see if they have some spare 9" wheels laying around, and start doing mock ups to get a feel for it.

That's as full compression as it gets with my 255. Might just be a matter of not being able to work the fender enough. Do you run any toe out?

Always was considering going down to Forgestar and having them make custom measurements to figure out the perfect offset Quote:

Caster doesnt effect tire clearance. the toe out does (unfavorably) since the front of the tire is where the most rub occurs at the fender/bumper joint. My stuff sits at +38 offset and it's 2mm from the shock body, about as tight as it gets on both sides.

You're effective moving the wheel up further in the wheel well. Not to mention in a turn you have more dynamic camber you have to deal with as the wheel "tilts" gaining more camber. |

Would you mind sharing your full alignment info? I'm looking for an aggressive street/dd-able alignment. M3 lower arms, adjustable camber plates etc. I previously was running -2 front and rear but i need a little more in front to keep from wearing the edges of my tires too much. The rear seemed okay wear wise, a little more worn on the inside than the outside but nothing outrageous.
I'm mostly curious about Toe settings, previous i had no toe in front and 1/8th inch in the rear. I'm a total noob when it comes to this so any help is much appreciated!

Minor update.
Ordered some Turner Adjustable Endlinks after mine started to click and creak. Will install these come corner balance. Also ordered AA headers and their off-road tune, will be installing this next weekend and will post my take/videos! Lastly, Sportscar magazine has monthly articles, and look what I found. |

Have you ever thought about getting better dampers? TCK Dual Adjustables are excellent, but there is better stuff out there. Curious if you think you'd benefit from it.

And here is why: 1. I'm only 1 year in with this car driving it. I don't really feel like throwing away (so to speak) $3,000 worth of dampers after a year of use. 2. The car is not at full prep. I still need to do headers (to be installed), battery, diff. That's not to mention I still need to touch all rubber bushings and replace those. Still need to find a way to fit 9" wheels under the car at my ride height. 3. Driving in general. I'm not at top talent yet to where I'll be able to tell the difference between these dampers and something that costs twice as much. Realistically, I need to be separated by thousands consistently in order to justify something like that and go for different dampers. The car is capable, it won a ProSolo already with it being heavier, and no tune. I dont think throwing money at dampers is an answer right now |
