In Montana, I believe. I think that is what they changed it to when they put speed limits back in place because everyone was going 100+mph everywhere they went when they had no speed limit.

You do have 70mph speed limits on the interstates where you live, don't you? I thought that was pretty standard all over the country.
I wouldn't know, I never look at the speed limit signs.

It's not the high speed you have to worry about,it's the sudden stop that's bad.

... i used to speed a lot but i stopped after i got a ticket. I was just a stupid new driver then never realizing the dangers of speeding. I did 90mph+ with my mom's '98 S320. the CHP CHICK listed 87mph but i knew i did faster than that. but the fastest that i did was 100mph+ on my way home from San Francisco. I think it was at 5 freeway. I was driving a sienna that we rented for the trip. pretty stable enough for high speed straight run. (ironic how i could go faster in a sienna than an s320 huh?)

I'm still waiting for my 325i but i probably wont push the car to the limit when i get it. dont wanna pay for a ticket.

And BTW if i saw a police going lets say 10 over the limit which would be around 65mph...And i was traveling around 145-155 that would mean i am traveling 80-90 MPH faster than him, basically like a car (doing 80-90) flying by a person who is at a standstill....Now do you think he has enough time to even take down my plate? no, and if i saw one..... well, my judgement as we have discussed before isnt developed yet.....

You couldn't maintain 140mph+ speeds if he chased you. You can't outrun a radio. I passed a cop standing beside his car clocking people doing 95mph once, and he chased me down in about 1/2 mile.

have you seen that picture of the "julia tuttle" it has 2 exits one to a neighborhood and another to miami beach, i could EASILY picture myself going into a house driveway and cutting the lights before the cop comes within my vicinity--- picture an exit ramp. Then picture blocks of houses with dim lit streets within a half a block of that exit ramp. And there is no intersection to get to the houses...it is very dark in that section too because there is a boulevard of TALL willow trees... Dumb idea nonetheless...

In Hicktown, Arkansas, yes. In Atlanta GA, no.
Big difference between a small township and a metropolitan area. Going 140 on back roads in the fist place is extremely dangerous in the first place if you don’t know the roads. If the county only has 1 cop car the chance of being chased are marginal at best.

But a BMW with out of state plates or a BMW would stick out like a sore thumb in the first place in small towns.

i think its different in every state

Yeah but you're not travelling faster than his radio call and there isn't that many JB BMW doing 145 on a specific strech of highway.
