Extremely happy with my 2011 135 Convertible with DCT. It feels decidedly faster than my last 2 cars, a 370z roadster and a Mazdaspeed3 with some mild mods. The only thing I've ever owned that felt as fast was an early 90's Mustang with a supercharger and a bunch of other mods. The 135 is great!

yeah I think the 1 coupe is amazing.....faster than a lot of other cars out there....would it be fair to say it has the most potential to mod price curve?

Great car!! It's lighter than the other models and is more of a purest driver's car. With a few of your own personalized mods, you can make this car nutty!
I've had had a few bimmers in my time, including: 95 M3 (supercharged) Z3 MCoupe (supercharged) Z3 M Roadster E39 M5 E46 M3 This is the first non-M car I've had in 10 years, and it certainly doesn't feel that way! Especially with meth, JB4 and intake!!

My first BMW as well and I love it. I try and find reasons to go out and drive. My previous car was a Stage 3 2002 S4, although a fun car I really enjoy driving this one a lot more. It feels more planted and precise. Hard to explain until you drive one. When I went for my first test drive, I instantly knew this was going to be my next car.

squat little brute...
lot's of grunt. Cornering just as much fun as acceleration. DTC catches the oversteer; turn it off if you have the cojones. Only drawback is if two people try to get in the car at the same time- likely to bang heads!

The z4m is quick, handles nicely, has much better steering feel, better road feel and is something you have to rev and work through the gears for big power. The 1, with tune and some suspenion mods, is much quicker straight line. Has huge power, after 2 weeks of driving it, i get in the z4m and wonder why the m feels so slow when i'm leisurely driving it up to say 5k rpm only. The 1 is also very quiet inside, super smooth over the road, and quite isolated. Steering feel and connection to road are completely different from the z4m, and the big power, cold roads mean DTC is firing all the time, fully on it's hugely annoying sapping the power, off you still deal with side to side jerking of traction control kicking in (ie e-diff). I like the 1 for daily, the m for weekends. 1 is faster, but not as much fun to me. I was feeling crazy having 4 cars for the 2 drivers, so sold my e46 daily and z3m weekend car and tried to replace it with the 135 (fast/small/tight...). After 4 mo I was hating on the 1 and looking for a replacement. Then instead of replace i added the z4m and all is good. The 1 is great to live with daily, but 'missing' something; the z4m has that something but would be too much for me to daily. An e46m3 was better at balancing a daily with the weekend car than the 1 or z4m; but wasn't as good at the 1 as daily, or the z4m for the weekends.

Coming over from a semi-gutted, built block STi I must admit the car isn't as "connected" in a raw way, but you get all the feel of the road that you would want without a loss of comfort. As everyone else has stated, it's very fast and comfortable completely stock. It also seems very reliable less a few small things and the HPFP problems. The 135i feels like riding on a fast, comfortable cloud.
