CD/MP3 player - non Idrive cars

For non iDrive cars, is there any way for the song name/artist to show up on the radio display?

Right now everything says track 01, 02, 03, etc.

I have i-Drive and for audio CD's I get the same display. I don't believe normal CD's have track data like mp3's.

I thought you have to convert the ID3 tags from version 2.x to version 1.x (1.2)..
You can do that in i-tunes or winamp..

Never had to convert any tags on mps's. I think you just press "list" and then "track" or something like that - can't remember exactly - I'm sure someone will confirm or rubbish this!!

I believe you need to have the tags in the older format

quote from another topic:

"After you press the "list" button, press the "title" button. The name of the song and artist will be displayed, and it will update when the song changes.
This assumes that your mp3 ID-tags are version 1.x. Version 2.x tags will not work."

In the next picture, if you press "current" then you will see the name of the song and the artist:

Ditto what Thomas said. Just hit the "List" button and it will list your tracks.

Thanks for the details...

Does this work for regular CDs also or just MP3 CDs?
