I don't think the 330i costs as much as everyone thinks.

IMO the IS350 has as much prestige as an Acura TSX, bleah. I like the GS430 a lot and that has the prestige you should associate with a Lexus. The BMW 325/330i just have a certain class to them IMO. I like the Lexus IS350, it just seems...I don't know....like a kids car.

I was culture-shocked when I went there last summer! More features?.....but you have to purchase them as "options!" Have you driven/seen an IS in person.......I don't think the E90 has more features.

But at least I get a stick shift, awesome handling and innovative styling! If that counts for anything.... I do wish I had remote start and comfort access on my car.

About the IS being overpriced, if i equip it w/ premium package and navigation (as i have my equipped with), the IS350 comes out to $40590. That doesnt seem like a big different in price from what i paid for my car (about $2000 difference), but the lexus comes w/ 18" wheels and smartaccess. To add 18" wheels and comfort access to my car, the difference is about $6000. So to say the IS is overpriced is kinda off-base imo. The $6000 maybe be worth it to me, but may not be to someone else. Anyways, congrats to the original poster on your new car. im sure u'll love it as much as we love our e90's here. Last edited by jiggax23; 10-16-2005 at 04:29 AM.. |

The IS is a great boulevard cruiser. The E90 is a great driver's car. If you live in Boca or LA and spend 99% of your time in urban traffic, then a Lexus makes a lot of sense. It is a great luxury car. BMWs are sports cars. Vive la differance!

Hey Baller,
It's okay to try other brands for awhile, it makes you happier once you get back in a BM! I did it this summer with a kickass Subary Legacy turbo that almost rendered me a cripple from the bad leather seat and the no headroom! I'm sure you'll enjoy your Lexus for the next few months!! Congrats!

congrats on your new purchase! If Lexus released the IS series about a month ago, I would have had a hard time choosing between the 325i and IS250.

I think I'll tool into the Lexus dealer next month in my 1998 Jimmy farm truck and test drive the IS just for fun...see how eager the salesman is to hump my leg. Er, I mean see how it matches against a BMW 325xi.

For me the IS250 would not have worked price wise. I did not want all the options but just some. In my 325i I got nav and xenons as my only options for a grand total of $32,595.00 for me to get the Lexus w/ nav it would have cost a lot more money. Also, when I went on lexus.com, it seems that to get the manual tranny on the is250 you can't choose the nav as option. I love the way BMW lets you tailor you car to your needs. I am very glad I did not wait for the Lexus to come out, I absolutely love my BMW.
