How couldn“t it? No offense to any 1M or current M3 owner, but the CSL is probably the most astonishing car BMW has built to date.

Congrats! You had the same delivery specialist I had.
Where in PA/NJ are you located? I would love to meet up and check out the new ride.

ED at BMW Welt
Congrats on the 1M and ED! Did the same for my MY2010 135i and loved it. Even thought of upgrading to 1M if I could do ED again, but no ED offered thru my dealer. Sigh. Enjoy the ride!!

Congrats on the 1M! Great write up too.
ED is such a memorable experience and the perfect way to pick up a new car. Try not to think too much about it while you wait for her to reach the States.

I fit very well and had plenty of headroom, even plenty of room for me wearing a helmet. My previous e36 had electic vaders and I had to low-ride in that thing on the track w/ a helmet. NOT the ideal track driving position! 1M is all good for me. No I just need an actual allocation and production #. Which supposedly is coming end of June! |

Amazing story....takes me back to my trip back in September 2009 to pick up my AW 135i. Very nice photos too!
I cannot stress enough to anyone considering this type of adventure to DO IT. One of the greatest weeks of my entire life, and I look forward to doing it again

Absolutely fantastic write-up and what a beautiful car! Congratulations on the M (welcome to the family!) and super congrats on a great ED.
I'm heading over in mid-September to pick up my new 740Li and can't wait! Haven't decided whether I'll keep my E93 M3 or not, but the pics of your 1M and that video on the 'Ring have me leaning toward keeping her. I'll have a car for weekdays and a car for crazy fast weekends. LOL! Congrats again. Wyoming isn't going to know what to do with you.

WOW! Congrats and thanks for sharing, you had a great trip!
I did my ED on June 8th of a VO 1M. I stayed only 2 days due to poor planning on my part. Now the long wait to get it back in the states |

Amen to that. The M3 CSL is a brilliant car. I cannot help but think that a 1M or M2 "CSL" would have even better potential due to it's size and weight advantage out of the box.

Welt Delivery
Nice write up. I also had the great pleasure of having Behrnard Hausman deliver me the first ED and first center delivery of a X3 in 2004. His knowledge of the car and care for the customer was evident again. I have had 5 BMW ED's, 2 Porsche ED's and one MB ED and the Welt is by far the best experience. Enjoy your new car, we enjoyed your story.

WOW, amazing post, would have been cool to see some more photos of your car with the alps etc..it's cool that your family went with you to experience this. It's nice to see someone else who also has a great relationship with their family, kinda rare these days.
Congrats on your car and hope the wait isn't too long for you. I have a 2011 335i but recently my car was in for service and the dealer gave me a 2011 135 w/ m sport pkg with dct for 2 days, although not exactly like your M, it was a blast to drive around town and enjoyed it so much, almost hated to give it back. I really wished the DCT was available on my car. |
