MMW headers for N52

so i couldn't see an existing thread.. but if anyone's seen their facebook lately, it seems the headers are *finally* nearing full production

anyone ordered/wanting to order a set?

they seem rather affordable, about $1k.

catless, mandrel bent, beautiful welds..

just as long as it doesn't take 5 months like this set have..

yeah i checked it out the other day.. 10000000x better, but,
well when i checked it was incomplete, still had filler text and such

i'd be a tough choice between silver and black for me.. probably go black
red sadly not an option for my colour scheme :P

get a nice catback off these and it'd be a damn fine mod i think. sound brilliant too.

as soon as it's fully available i'm ordering mine for sure
see ig i can afford a laptorr at the same time ;P

i assume so, many people seem to be talking about wanting certain colours that won't work, so yeah i guess it's at least partially visible?

Since the cats are in the headers, should be some actual gains-- even if the piping design is worse than stock (not saying that it is)

somehow staring at the warning lights isn't worth the power, my friends IS350 has headers and cat less piping and it is bothersome staring at multiple warning lights at all times

You could run cats in the mid pipes or you could use software to turn the CEL off. Just because you have headers doesn't mean you have to have a light.

Do you know for sure if these will fit RHD? I've had e30's before and they have this issue, cause headers for LHD e30's won't fit around the steering column...

But if they do fit I'll be wanting a set.

Wooo!!

As far as im aware the n52 has 4 cats, 2 in headers and 2 secondary just after at the start of the midpipes?

the piping design looks spectacular, and has a much larger ID than stock too

It comes with o2 sims to trick it into thinking there is still cats

why, would much rather hear on a laptorr

the PE is just a muffler replacement, useless overpriced POS.. can get a ful 3" mandrel bent stainless catback for the same price!

Since I checked this thread last I discovered the SuperSprint sells headers for the car. That's the route I'd go. I don't know any company that does as extensive testing as them (pretty sure they make the most power in every application they compete in) and their fitment is always spot on. Pricier, but... good things are worth paying for.

MMW's other products are for Scions

Correct. So your car won't even be overly stinky if you do headers.

I also noticed, while looking at my brothers N52, that not only are the cats in the "headers", but the "headers" are actually collectors. Collectors aren't great, cats close to the engine aren't great-- I'm more confident than before that there's some real power to be had from headers.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if people start regularly getting 295 (crank) HP from 128i's with 3 mods:
1) DISA valves
2) Good headers
3) software that enables the valves and retune for the headers.

My math is as follows...
130s and 330s make 265 hp from the same engine with the DISA valves, so 265 is pretty much a given. 295 requires 30 more, which seems like a lot... but the OEM collectors/cats really look like a crappy design. I actually think 30 is a safe bet.

And, as an extra margin, software companies claim ~10-15 hp from a tune. So, maybe more.

All I could find was z4 and I am not sure if it is for the older 3.0 engine or the N52

http://www.supersprint.com/en/prod-3...93E280BA_.aspx

125 coupe, but same engine in the same chassis.

I talked to supersprint NA, they said they don't have it listed on their site for the 128 because they haven't officially test fitted it to make sure everything is 100% yet, but they believe it'll be a 100% direct fitment.

We'll likely be ordering a set shortly for my brother's 128, so, details to follow

I think the supersprint headers would be the way to go. I wonder if that exhaust that is under development would fit our cars?

SS has headers, mids, and a muffler for the 125 coupe-- so same engine and same chassis. Should all work flawlessly.

Keep us posted if you go this route. Have you found a vendor in the US? Looks spendy, is the only thing.

Supersprint NA is going to important.

SS is consistently the highest quality stuff out there. You get what you pay for.

I've been down the cheap header road before. Wouldn't do it again.
