I'm unhappy with the new version of the Continental DWS 06

My fronts are the older version and I just replaced the rears with the new version and I hate the look of it. The sidewalls are round and the tread pattern towards the outside is ugly. Ugh I hope they wear out soon.

Your fronts are the DWS and the rears are the DWS 06? Or are you saying there has been a revision to the DWS 06?

I put a set of the DWS 06's on in January, and I think they're awesome tires. The big improvement over the old DWS's is the addition of a sidewall insert to improve feel (i.e., less squish).

Yeah my fronts are DWS and rears are DWS 06. There's still a lot of sidewall flex. Just doesn't feel stable in the freeway.

So dws06 is worse than original dws? (Other than its tread pattern)

Why use all seasons. Get 2 sets of wheels. 1 for summer tires, one for winter. Your call on snow specific.

IMO, the DWS 06's are great street tires, and are better than the DWS's. I think they have very firm sidewalls and good feel. The OP is using them in the rear, and I'm not really sure how well one could discern sidewall flex in rear tires (much less communicative than the fronts, at least I think so), especially with mixed tires all around. It sort of makes me wonder if he's on stock RSFBs?

Some of us don't live in an area where it makes sense to do so. Where I live in the PNW, the winters are too mild for full-fledged winter tires - some years we might get light snow once or twice, but often not - but it's just a little too cold for summers for much of the year. I don't like to be on summers when average temps are in the 40s. When I've lived in warmer climates, I've just run summers year-round.

Another advantage of running all seasons is that I get to reserve my 200TW summer tires for competition, instead of wasting tread on street driving, where I'm nowhere near the limit.

How many miles have you driven on them? I believe you need a few hundred miles to wear off the mold release compound.

Just a few weeks. When I change lanes on the freeway there's a lot of flex in the rear. My main concern though is how ugly they are. I don't like the rounded sidewall. I didn't get A/S for all out performance but they should perform better than the replacement. I live in PNW too so I don't need dedicated winter and summer tires for the mild winters and the barely summers.
