Thanks! lol, I know what you mean. I think most everyone is really just smarter than me on 3A, with self preservation instincts intact. I’ve gone two wheels off there once and let’s say it was almost a code brown.

#4 can be. I’ve gone right to far edge once when the brakes decided to take a vacation.

The numbers the RS puts down are mind bending. You'd be nothing short of doing major, expensive re-engineering of the 1er to keep up, equal driving considered.
All valid points. It’s just a fun video with love for the 1er

If there is a message, buying an expensive car is not necessary to have fun or go fast on the circuit. I’ve always wanted an ///M car, but driving the 1er has been a blast, and my need for a high performance car has surprisingly dwindled.

That’s not to say I don’t want the RS. Any day.

have you coded any of the brake related 'assists' off?
namely:

-brake fade compensation
-brake pretension on throttle lift off
-brake over temp protection (reduced engine power if it thinks the brakes are to hot.)
-not sure what the last one is called but if the car senses an emergency stop it applies the brakes more then what's being asked for at the pedal

ohh and the electronic diff - seeing as you have a lsd

Some great driving.

I'm sad that the two thoughts I'm left with are:

a) why the hell are BM moving the 1er FWD having seen yet again how great the platform is
b) other than the 30 odd rocking horse pooh M4 GTS where is the BMW answer to GT3 and 650S? :

Pick up an fmic $500, used cobb v2 $350, add 5 gal e85, or 100oct for insurance.

If it gets hot switch to stock tune in the pits.

Ive never gone into limp my cars are much heavier too. The 3 other jb4 n54 with me went into limp including 335is (extra cooling).

Excellent driving skills! Compliment your skills by running a mild tune like map 2 with some higher octane and start crushing exotics! Then post another video!

You’re absolutely right! But there is another issue, brakes! Pad fade and sinking pedal. Car barely stops as is with stock power, been quite a challenge to brake consistently. Stopping distances increase after every lap and I’ve been dealing with it by braking much earlier than I’d like!

I’ll be moving up to Castrol SRF on the next brake fluid change. Motul RBF 600 / 660 has been the best so far, but the pedal still gets very soft.

lol thanks again! Honestly, I still feel there’s still more skill to be developed from the stock tune. I’ll “graduate” to a tune eventually! Of course, I’ll be sure to post a video if that ever happens haha.
I mentioned this in the M3 ZCP track thread.

Highly recommend CASTROL SRF

The wet boiling point of SRF is higher than the dry boiling point of most any other fluid.

That means when your SRF is contaminated , it still performs better than any other fluid that is still fresh off the shelf. That's how much better it is. Your brake pedal already got mushy, don't just bleed the calipers, just pony up $70 bones and swap fluid now and you'll be amazed.

I "accidentally " forgot to change my fluid for six months and my SRF felt awesome for a full year. Theres no need to bleed the calipers ever anymore between events.

No coding has been done to the car. I recently discovered that those were possible…that should help!

That sounds awesome. I look forward to using it!

Strangely enough, Berk Technology recommended the Motul over the Castrol in an old thread when they raced the 135i. Otherwise I would have gone straight to the Castrol in the first place!

Isn't the 2-series really the new 1-series though? Please tell me the 2er is staying RWD! It's just a same that (like every other car on the planet), they keep growing in size.

I hope so. If the 2er ever becomes FWD, it'll mean BMW lost their mind for good. At least to me.

I like what they did with the M2 and M235i, and I hope they keep it that way - keeping the roots of their original spirit somewhat alive.

Gt3 vs 12c vs 135i

1 -) has those gt3 and 12c driven as hard as 135i has? I m hoping not.. ?
2-) has those gt3 and 12c drivers as skilled as 135i driver appeared? I m hoping not.. ?

Now, how critical above? I let you guys figure the rest

Best.

No one is actually asserting that a lightly modded 135i is a faster car than the 12C or the GT3. That's silly. If you read the thread, you can see that even the original poster remarked that both of these cars can run Sonoma in the 1:4x range, which is beyond the reach of his 135i, even with a hero behind the wheel.

It's just for fun. It's fun to see that if a person is willing to put in the time and effort, you can hang with much faster cars, just by refining your own skills.

Wow. That sucks man. Just because you can afford the car, doesn't mean you can handle it.

Fortunately the damage seemed limited to the exterior body panels so it should be fixed with minimal downtime. I've seen so much worse in just the few times I've been here. This track can eat cars!

And this is among drivers that ALL have dozens of hours of track time at the same track.

15s/lap is an eternity.

Please say that track is at least 4 miles long. lol

That sure is an eternity on the circuit.
