Fastest HPFP replacement ever?
My 2nd HPFP went into the car at 1.6k miles and died last night 2 years later at 33k miles. Car went into limp mode just before merging onto the FDR Drive, which could have been a disaster, and gave me no symptoms whatsoever that the pump was on the way out. My first pump on the other hand long cranked for a few days before it was replaced without ever putting me into limp mode.
Anyway, I limped the car the few miles home last night and then the few miles to the dealership this morning. Dropped the car off at 7am without an appointment or anything, and my SA called me at 8:50am to tell me that they had changed the pump and the car was running great. Guess all that practice the shop was getting in the last couple of years has made a job that took 4 hours two years ago now takes half as long today. Hopefully the next time my pump goes it only takes them an hour to replace. Lets hope for 30k more trouble free miles.

Less than two hours without an appointment? Sheesh, my oil changes take longer than that when they know I'm coming, lol.

I guess after doing it thousands of times they got it down packed. Still excellent service nonetheless.

I should knock on wood every time I read one of these threads. 40k miles on the original HPFP and I've never had any issues.

hmmm.......
I would check under the hood to see if any "hands" have touched various parts. It sounds waaaaaay too fast for the dealership to do this. The software upgrade alone takes a few hours from what i understand. Check and report back to us

the fine layer of grime i leave on my engine for just these kinds of checks, and not at all because of laziness, looks like it has been disturbed and at the very least they took off the engine cover off.
