Unhappy Low ignition timing?

Hey guys,

I did a log last night and it seems that my timing is really low compare to what I see on other logs. I am getting a bit worried...

Here is the CSV file for the log http://members.iinet.net.au/~rthee/BMW135i/stage1.csv

Specs on the car - 2008 135i (AT) with 38,000km HPFP was replaced 2 months ago. The relevant mod that are already installed are DCI and DP (the others on my sig have not be installed yet). This is running rev 3 on the new aggressive maps (Stage 1 Map 1). I fill up with Caltex 98.

No word from Shiv or Adrian yet, so I thought I may ask what you guys think.

Feedbacks are greatly appreciated!

What is it exactly that you are worried about?

Well I guess I just find it a bit weird that my logs are not relwtively similar as what others people have posted.

I was running stage 2 earlier and that was giving me code as soon as I shift into 4 under wot. Changed to stage 1 and no codes so far but I just want to make sure everything is ok I suppose.

Extra cautious is probably a better word then worried.

So you just replaced the HPFP two months ago?? what happened with it? Long cranks? Mine one didn't get replaced but AC upgraded the software and it seems ok so far. But a bit afraid it will die right after the warranty expired.....

Had long cranks - at some point it would crank for like 7-8 seconds and wont start.

had to turn off and turn it on again then it would start.

I got the software upgraded and then a week later car would go to limp mode as soon as it hits around 3500 RPM.

Then the HPFP got replaced afterwards.

Fear not. If your HPFP dies out of warranty you get it replaced and life goes on. It's a couple of hundred dollars. What's the big deal?

It shouldn't just get an independent to replace it for you.

My car came with 3 years extended warranty, worked it into the price of the car.

That's alright mate, was just being extra cautious sinceh timing doesn't go any higher then 3 during third gear run. I'm on a less aggressive maps for now. Gonna replace my spark plugs next week when I get my intercooler, cp and bov installed.

I'll do more logging then and see how I go.

Are you able to email your logs to Adrian so he can look over them? It's worthwhile to cover yourself in case something is off.

Us JB guys email logs to Terry any time of the day and he gets back to us usually within 24 hours but most of the time within a couple of hours.

Most of us log on a routine basis just to check that everything is in good order. It's good insurance if you're running meth. Although, most of us know what to look for when we're logging now. Edwin's an expert on it!

Yeah I did - spoke to Adrian and Edwin already (thanks for the help boys ).

I am definitely being very cautious with the new aggressive map - don't want to break anything!

Thanks though.

Your timing looks really bad, something is off. Also, can you include target boost? Boost doesn't seem stable either.
