I don't know of anyone who has gone to coilovers on their 1er yet (in the area). Finding a spare passenger side strut may be tough.

this website is awesome. couldn't find it last night, but found plenty of places that try to duplicate realoem's functionality, but the results list has aftermarket parts!

thank you!

i'm guessing it was me trying to tighten that top nut; too many hands in the pot to pinpoint the culprit. i'm just taking my lumps and getting another oem strut. hopefully all will be resolved thursday. evo school in 3 days, need it to be right!

You there in Saturday for EVO? If my flight out of Philly on Fri night doesn't get hosed, I may be there in the AM to help Rachel do setup.

I'm @ EVO both days this weekend. Then in for 5/23 to put my new learnings to practical use. There's really not enough practical use for this stuff...

Philly's always been a tough airport in my experience, i don't like flying there. Are they expecting delayed flights Fri night?

I have a longstanding bad streak of luck flying home on Friday nights for work. I flew out of PVD instead of BOS too, which limits my flight choices, if something happens.

Seeing very few bimmers in Philly, zero 1 series.

Maybe that is why BMW had a big 'ol ad right behind the Flyers goal in tonight's game, stirring up business.

Well, i hope you have good weather and an uneventful flight.

You will have an instructor in the car with you for most of the day. It may be best to wait until the May 23 event.

Ok, update:

It's FIXED! It's finally, finally FIXED!

I guess the strut was the issue. So one new oem strut and another alignment (this time at 1.5 degrees camber) and some help from some really great guys who know their BMW's (ACE Performance in Tewksbury).

Thanks to Tom, Bear and Mark from ACE and Terry at Vorshlag for helping me through this really frustrating string of unusual bad events.

that is a tough one. i was ok with it, but after only one weekend of evo school and maybe 300 miles of normal driving, the noises are coming back. i'm afraid to tighten the top nut because of the blown strut scenario. but will probably do so anyway on saturday and drop some locktite on them afterwards.

my impression, the more i drive the car from Medford to Boston on 93 and then back from Boston to Medford on 93 South, that the stock suspension on the car is very rubbery and the camber plates are noisy.

I'm looking forward to maybe a low-speed ride in your car and larry's too and let you ride in mine to see what you think about whether i have "noises" or not.

are you going on sunday?
