2011 DCT Throttle Delay
Hello,
I had my car for approximately 2 months, 2011 135i DCT, w/ 55K miles on it. There have been times where I press the throttle lightly, and the car takes a whole 1-2 full seconds to finally engage. At first I thought it was the throttle not going down all the way, but there have been instances where I take off at a light to do a good pull, and the car seriously took 1-2 seconds to go. I think it is worse with the DTC button pushed once. Yesterday being stuck in traffic, I tried to switch lanes in traffic to speed up, and the throttle did it again with a 1-2 second delay which made me worrisome. I've been reading that people can bring this to the dealership to have the firmware upgraded to PPK which resolves it. Just wanted to get some thoughts, as I have done no performance mods. I was thinking of upgrading to JB4 tune, but would like to take care of this issue first. |

I have a 2012, had the same problem. Got the dealer to update software via SB 12-15-14. Fixed the problem for me, no issues since. Also fixed the fluctuating idle problem and periodic stalling.

JB4 is not a tune, it's a piggyback. Don't get one because they suck. Terrible consistency and response compared to a tune like Cobb.
To fix your lag you can get the aforementioned update OR drive in manual mode by putting the shifter in sport and selecting a gear with the paddles. |

The car doesn't know how much torque it's actually making with the JB4. It needs to know this to clamp your DCT properly. Most people don't slip on stock turbo with JB4 but it's a shitty setup regardless.
Also, JB4 does make power but the power delivery is questionable. Don't recommend. |
