My Chicago Autoshow 1 series review (no 56k)

First I would like to thank Byran@mwerks.com for inviting me!

The 135i in person is truly stunning. To my surprise, it's much bigger than I thought. This car will turn heads! For those of you that ordered Sedona Red, the color you see in the pictures online are 100x better then the color looks in person. It's pinkish in real life. Sorry folks it's bad.

The interior quality of the car is right on with ANY BMW. The sports seats are way..way..way to tight on my legs. The back of the sport seats fit ok, but I am happy I choose not to get them. Otherwise, the car was quite comfortable as far as leg and head room were concerned. The rear seat...well forget it.

The 1er also had BMW logo'd calipers on all four wheels and they look nice.
I took a shot of the LED license plate lights if anyone is interested.

Seeing the tii in Alpine White cemented the fact that I choose the right color!!

Enjoy the pictures!

The one w/black interior looks like it has grey poplar. How did that look in person?
It looks like it still has a slight brownish hint to it.
I gotta make sure it goes with my Terra!

The Grey Popular does look good. I didn't see a hint of brown.

Odd how BMW mixes things from car to car. For example, the red 135 had no "M" door sills but has the M Sport steering wheel. The convertible has "M" door sills but no sport steering wheel. I know I'll get the M sport steering wheel w/my sport pkg, but which door sills??

I guess it's a moot point though, because my dealer just told me that Grey Poplar was not available any more.

Glossy black it is.

Its all a matter of personal opinion. Having seen AW, Sapphire Black and Sedona in real life conditions (i.e. not under artificial show room lights) cemented the fact that Sedona is the right colour FOR ME. AW does look nice, but is too plain and way to common here, black hides the lines and I do not see pink in Sedona, orangy browny brick colour sure. It is a nice unique colour to match a unique car.

Thanks for the pics, you got some great shots.

I'll give you that. I haven't seen the car outside in natural light. I originally wanted Sedona Red.

SA135i, I almost completely agree on the Sedona subject. I clearly see the pink hues when it's on display inside but it seems to be a non factor outside.

I love the Sedona color variation in different light conditions. It's one of the main reasons I chose it. It seems to waver between burnt orange and sienna red.

Great photos Chris. Thanks.

Thanks for the good work on the pics.

Notice how much the Sedona Red varies from pic to pic?

THIS particular photo that you snapped seems to more accurately represent the Sedona Red car that I saw at the auto show in my area...

I didn't want to take the risk on the Sedona Red, so I went with Jet Black, like this one posted by aesthetect... It ticks me off that the Sedona red isn't more like the BMW website. That's what I was wanting originally. I hope the Jet Black is OK.

Why the difference in sill plates? BMW is not making much sense these days.

The 128i cab is a display only vehicle, a kind of a mish-mash of piece parts. You shoulda seen the VIN on that car - BLANK. The 135i, US spec car, does not appear to come with M sills. The production 128i cabs probably will not either (especially those equipped with automagic trannies ; -).

BMWeber, headlight washers are standard on the 135i here. (not too happy about that)
