AFe cold air stage 2 5r intake

So I recently installed a cold air intake from AFe into my 2009 n51 128i. I have read up on other intake systems such as injen and they all say there is no power gain. With the aFe, you definitely feel it in your seat. Car is much louder also more from the engine and takes out that whining whistling sound. Highly recommend this to our cars.

You feel a difference

I thought the AFE was the "only" air intake that produced any (albeit slight) measurable increase in HP? Or is that only w/ a tune?

I haven't added an air intake to my 128i yet, but the CAI (w/ tune) made my E36 328is feel and sound more visceral.

Not sure but some say they feel a difference some say it's just noise. I don't have a tune in mine. But I do feel a difference

I definitely felt a difference. I did my best to NOT let my ears decide, but the overall feel. Even if it's not a measurable difference in terms of HP, it is when it comes to throttle response and the feel at higher RPM ranges.

There is no noticeable difference in HP, but yes it is the only one that appears to make power.

The real question is if that is by better design or less restrictive panel media.

In these intakes i think the Elbow from box to Throttle body is key. The closed AFE has a smooth elbow as does the RM elbow.

Is it the open intake, or the one with the box?
The Box intake took 10 minutes to install. The injen open intake took forever.

Ever since buying my BMW128i, I think it was way to quiet! I want my ride to sound like a machine, not an appliance. I want to hear the exhaust ( not to loud ) but rumble, hear the intake as I get on, and the tires chirp as it strains to hook up! Aw yes, the driving experience: smells, feels, and most of all SOUNDS! Is your car faster than mine, sure but when I'm all alone out in the country, it is all about me and the BMW I'm driving and it doesn't get better than that!
