SouthernBM 135i Camber plates

There really isn't that many options on the market for camber plates for 135i. We have been using both versions of Vorshlag camber plates for our 135i customer cars and have been very happy with the results. They have large area of adjustment and are a very high quality product.

After repeated people were asking me for camber plates but struggle with the pricing we decided to make our own. To keep the costs down we elected to go for fixed mounting position plates instead of full adjustable as a lot of the cost is in that top adjustable section.

The way these work is that they bolt to the top of your current standard upper strut bearing and just offsets it to allow for more negative camber. We have a set on a car currently being tested in NSW and on the wheel alignment machine he recorded a -1 degree on the first setting and -2 on the second. This was with standard shock/spring combination, you should expect to see more on the furthest setting if you run lowered H&R's or Eibach Prokit with lowered springs.

I have a local car coming in for work in March which has standard suspension and he has agreed to do some product testing on these for me. I'm looking to give people with OEM suspension that little bit of negative camber that make the 135i more enjoyable, without breaking the bank, or without the need to change your OEM suspension to a coil over setup. With these camber plates and say the BMW performance springs with maybe FSD's and normal tyres, i believe this would make a great everyday suspension setup and would be enough for occasional driver training days.

Sounds good Andrew! Does this take away the standard rubber bushing at the top of the front strut? If so I guess it will take away some compliance but make the car more responsive. Does this mod raise the car - or keep standard height (with the original suspension components)?Will this mod let you run a wider wheel/wider offset at the front as I guess the top of the wheel will now be more tucked under the guard?

These go on top of the standard upper mount so raising the car only slightly. The top of the tyre would tuck in a little, when i get the next dead stock car in i'll take side on photos so you can see what they look like. This product is based on stock setups just for those looking for a camber plate solution for your road car and driver training car. Final pricing is estimated at $330 a pair. Full release after more product testing and feedback from beta testers.

Although not a strict before and after accurate post, i thought i would show the difference camber plates can make.

This car has R spec tyres fitted and different rims in the Pre camber plate photos and also has the top strut tower holes slotted so in the pre photos has a little bit of negative camber already. The after camber plate photos have normal wheels fitted, so results are not strictly accurate.

Keeps the suspension at the same height but raises the car slightly by the width of the plate.
