Is there a DIY for rotor replacement?
I'd like to change out my brakes and rotors this week. I have about 48,xxx miles and the brakes won't last much longer going to HPDE events.
Are there any special tools I need to remove the rotors? I've seen videos on how to replace the pads but nothing on rotors. This will be my first time doing this and I want to learn how to do it myself. Thanks! |

only additional thing you need is an allen key to remove the retaining screw for the rotor.

Rotors are cake to change, just a single screw holding it in. I have a write up on here you can look at simply for illustration purposes but when I changed my pads and rotors I simply YouTube'd it and you'll see step by step how to do it. Really easy.

1) Remove calliper with bracket attached.
2) Remove screw securing rotor before removing calliper so you can block the rotor from turning with a screwdriver in the vanes (or by holding on the brakes). |

A lot of great info. Looks like the extra money I spent buying the performance rotors will be worth it because I don't have to go to the dealer for the install. Didn't think its so straight fwd.
