Wondering if the guys with the Z4 35is and the 335is suffer the same symptoms on their DCTs? They both are attached to the N54 engine vs our N55…just wondering.

PLEASE post the SIB in this thread. That way others can benefit from this issue as well.

Go to your dealer and ask them to program your car to the latest integration level.. If you have a DCT there is also a recently released software for the trans, which I did this morning. We'll see how that is later on today...

SW updates usually can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Depending on how the SW update goes. Most dealers let it load over night. Sometimes you have a conflict with a hardware device, or something prevents(old hardware) the SW from fully loading. So sometimes it takes a few attempts before being successful.

Yes. Programming/encoding can be quite a pain in the ass sometimes.

I can relate to that, got an update from my dealer yesterday that they still can't find any codes on my car, they have update all the SW and the problem still there. My SA told that they are in contact with BMW main and doing a remote scan/ update/ reading to see if the dealer is missing something or see were is the problem.

Love the DCT but if doesn't get fix, will trade the car ASAP. Can't find this problems on either the Z4 35is or the 335is after searching their forums. Might be tied to our N55 after all.

Sorry to hear your issues, that sucks.. I think once they get everything sorted software wise you'll be happy. My car had the issue horrible when I first got it, and the first software update helped but it was still there. I just updated to the latest software yesterday and it performs flawlessly.

Back in my VW service dept days... I had a difficult car problem that was similar. This Golf was always stalling out and not leaving any codes. What it turned out to be was the (main)power supply relay for the DME. When that sucker goes out... it will wipe all codes. Not sure if BMW's work the same way... but its worth asking about.

Dack good point, will ask.
Mine has never stalled but the down shift from 2 to 1 has a huge jerk that leap the car foward, sometimes happens from 3 to 2 but not as bad as 2 to 1, more to follow...

I also have the big leg issue when hitting the gas and the gears engaging. From reading this thread I'm not sure I want to perform the update because people mention the feeling of Loss of Power and quieter exhaust. Are people who are updating this more recently seeing any of this?

I have 2011 135i w/ DCT

I didn't have any of the issues you mention. The end result was my dct responds instantly. I know it's been mentioned many times before but I will say it again: print the sib in this thread and take it to the dealership so they know exactly what you want them to do.

My dealership had no clue what the update was. If i went in there complaining that my dct had a delay from a roll or stand still and not given them the sib, they would of probably told me there are no updates for the transmission.

There is a slight loss of power with my latest update. I can tell that they are trying to keep some of the low end torque load off of the trans, which is a good thing for me. Before, if I nailed it down low in a higher gear the trans would slip. No more of that, so i'm happy with it.
