Airbag Recall

BMW reached out to me a while back about an airbag recall. They said to wait for more information and when I spoke to my dealer they said they didn't have the airbag in stock. I have done some research and it seems that takata makes them, are they just still in the process of remanufacturing them? Anyone have any experience related to this?

So friggin' many cars need these airbags that they will simply take a while to make all of the new ones. In addition, they're being rolled-out to the higher-risk locations first (i.e. higher humidity).

It's a mess. I'm in what would be considered a higher humidity location. Got my letter in Feb 2016 and still waiting. I'm getting a little tired of riding with a hand grenade in front of me.

It's also based on age of the airbags, as it seems the older ones are more at risk...

Received my notification letter. Spoke with BMW and they still don't have these in stock.

Have bigger problems with my car right now anyway....

Got mine replaced yesterday. 2008 135i.

Service advisor said they had plenty for E46 models but fewer for newer cars. Interesting but not surprising.
