Caught speeding...again
Hi all, haven't been on here for a while as been on holidays and some business travel.
To make a longish story short I got caught doing a 144 in 100 zone up near Kempsey on boxing day. I will be accepting the moron of the year award later this month. Probably one of the most heavily policed days of the year and I'm driving like this?? I was being pushed by some battler in a v8 commodore but he backed off and I got caught....no excuse though. I didn't even bother arguing with the copper, I was so embarrassed at being such an idiot. Anyway I am out for 6 months now so the poor old 135 will be tucked up in his garage for a while.

Oh bloody no! I just got done too. I'm on my last 3 pts now. My problem up till when I got my 135 was always that I speed often but never very much over the limit. Now however it's often, AND a lot over the limit.....

At least you took it on the chin mate, shows you had the cajones to take responsibility for your actions.
I can still remember a younger me turning a coppers face purple with rage (he had anger management issues I found out later) when, after pulled up on my old Suzuki 250cc bike, I complained about the fine not resulting from a speed camera, as at least I'd have a nice photo for the mantelpiece in return for the payment to Qld Transport... |

Tough break, man!
I second Mattyv's comment, you are taking it on the chin - can't fault you for that! For what it's worth, I think driving whilst intoxicated is a much more serious offence. |

I love the "take it on the chin?" attitude. So many people here would be trying to wriggle out of it, somehow or another.
I love the Aussie attitude. We need more of that here in the states. |

thanks for the support guys.
I will be attending far more track days when I get my licence back to try and get it out of my system but the reality is these cars are so much fun to wind out and its a daily struggle to keep a lid on it.

It does....but I think it's only an option with ProNav. Mine is set at 110km and it goes off all the time!

Most states (I think) of Australia, the maximum speed limit is 100km/h (62 mph). In Western Australia it's 110km/h (68mph).

Is the SRT-8 sold in Australia? Because on paper that thing will do 0-100 in 4.7 seconds. And being automatic, it is rather easy to achieve.
So if that is what you were up against I'm not surprised you lost

Mine was set to 120km/h but I found the frequent dinging annoying, so I increased it to 130km/h but still the dinging still got to me, so now I don't use the feature any more. I know, I'm asking for it....

Most places in Victoria is 100kmh except some major highways goes at 110kmh. Speed tolerance is 3kmh so you can get booked for doing 113kmh in Victoria
