Also, my headlight washers are stuck out about a half an inch.
I refilled with regular fluid that they sell everywhere. I didn't read the bottle, but I gotta believe it's rated to -20 -- I'll check tonight. What gives?? I thought the nozzles were heated! It's 5 degrees F right now. |

Goddamn dealership... I just called them and "Vicky" said the nozzles are not heated.
From the manual: Windshield washer nozzles The windshield washer nozzles are heated automatically while the engine is running or the ignition switched on. I hate Vicky!! (She's also the one who falsely wrote on my invoice that I said my seatbelt chime "sounded like a dead cat". Ugh, I may have to complain.) |

No, it's worse. I just got back from Autozone where they confirmed that the washer fluid they sell in the summer freezes at 32 degrees. I thought it all was safe 'til -20 deg!! How have I made it to 31 years of age thinking this!?!
Goddammit!! The kid recommended I pour boiling water in the reservoir. I said, "Kid!..." Anyway, I bought some de-icer that is s'posed to work 'til -34 deg. I thought I'd pour as much as I could in and hope it'd help thaw it out. The fuker was near full. I have to wait 'til Saturday now when it's s'posta hit 34 deg. The worse part is that my headlight washers are stuck a 1/2 inch out. I just know they're broken now and it won't be covered under warranty and it'll cost $2k to fix. This is the first time I have ever had to use this smiley.... ! |

Oh, and a dead cat eventually makes farting noises from the decomposition, but that's not what my seat belt warning sounded like.
And Vicky looks like a beat up piece of leather... |

If the washer fluid freezes, heated nozzles wont do you any good.

Not sure but here is a pic of the part. On my previous 525i they were electrically heated at the nozzle, just plugged into a wire loom somewhere. Good website to find parts for information, not sure about accuracy of pricing info though.

My garage is detached and not heated. And I have no idea how long it would take to thaw a block of ice in my car anyway.
Sat and Sunday the highs are 38, I will leave her parked in the sun and hope for the best.... |
