Thinking about changing stock 325i tires...

Would it work if I put track tires on my 325i NON SP rims?

They are just sitting in the garage right now

Thanks!

But are those for drag strips or for auto-x? You need auto-X, right?

I dont think its a good idea... You want a staggered setup for track use...

If it's just for 'moshing' around in, then do it. I wouldn't want to burn through expensive 18" tires after every race, when I could just have some cheaper 16's.

hunter it seems to be a good idea, but if you are using the 16" non zsp 325i wheels, than the wheel diameter itself is only 7". I dont know the widest tire you could fit on this, but if I were to guess, you'd end up losing handling due to the less amount of rubber? (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

It'd be fine. I've been looking at getting some 225 or 245 wide tires for some 16" snow rims I have to use on track. going a non-staggered set-up will cause a slight loss of traction at the back of the car, but most cars understeer a bit excessively anyway, and this will cure a little of this...

If you're new to auto X, I'd say learn on some harder rubber first before switching over..... You'll learn more by driving on less grippy tires, learning how to maximize your grip and corner speeds, then when you eventually switch to better tires or a faster car you'll be a better driver than if you were to go straight to race tires from the start...
