Why do I never see more 1ers with mods?

I have just noticed that I spend all my time on e90post.com in the engine modification section and never any time in the 1addicts section. I rarely see any threads about methanol and have never seen one pertaining to nitrous. Why is this?

There are lots of modded 135s out there, but there are a lot more 3 Series cars sold, so it makes more sense that you'll see more posts about them.

I guess...
I was hoping for more of a "I have nitrous and run sub 7 second 60-130's" from a few people.

Way more 3's out there but also they have been out much longer so the modders have already worked through the basic stuff. 135 owners are just working their way through the wheel and exhaust type mods and then you'll gradually see a few more convert to meth/nitrous, etc.

I'm practically fully modded except the main performance mods like a tune or meth. Now I'm like you, I keep up with mods on the e90 side and come here mainly to discuss wheel offsets, etc.

Jettafanatic, does your Kiwi device allow you to clear all tuner codes? That thing looks pretty amazing.

P.S. I love your car, it is friggen tight!

I know it can clear some, not sure if all ( including the "shadow" codes etc...).
I have had no codes with the car, probably because the engine / internals / anything that can harm the engine has not been touched ( on purpose) which is also why I prefer Dinan ( 4 year warranty because it is a milder tune IMHO and also controls other parameters to preserve the engine's longevity).

I love it's functionality though and I track 5 parameters at all times, the IAT ( Intake Air Temperature) mostly as I love to see the numbers stay at ambient with the ER IC and drop to 20 below ambient when the Meth kit kicks in.....

Wow Jettafanatic! Looks great, I especially like the gauges, the anodized FMIC and the "fang" removal! I assume you are gonna paint the Vorsteiner lip?

Lol Rustler, that is a heckuva list but I'm sure it's more in the $25k range. Btw I can see a some mods he missed just to keep the list on one page..lol.

Irishace, I see no rush to get a tune. I only have 16k on my odometer so I'd kind of like to think that I'm burning through more of my warranty but of course BMW would fight me as they already fought me when my HPFP went out. Mainly I'm waiting on GIAC to finish stage2+ and a switcher and in the meantime I'm finishing off all the necessary supporting mods.

Magic

Seriously though, body shop magic.
And...
1) The lip will be painted
2) The mod list did leave a few things out...
3) Mods were not cheap but nowhere close to cost of the car.
4) I did "de-fang" the car because sometimes it is nice to silently fly below the radar and catch people with their pants down.... In fact, I usually run stock wheels ( though use square set-up with 255/35/18 Vredestein tires at all 4 corners) and went with black Stoptechs / black intercooler and left the factory mesh there because the car looks almost OEM to all but the very trained eye.. In the words of a friend of mine.. "talk quietly but carry a big stick"

glad the angle gauge is going out. Trunk #2 is almost done with paint and anxiously waiting to sport the big wing!
