do you have the dpfix or are you running a procede? you need one of these two in order to deal with the codes.

www.burgertuning.com

downpipe fix installs in the ecu compartment. it's a pinout connection with 4 or so wires that you have to install. on the factory setting, it should take care of the codes and check engine lights

Thanks for your help bryce. I shall get one of this to solve my headache. One more question is why other brands of downpipes dont have this issue?

every downpipe has this issue, except maybe catted downpipes. when you remove the cat converters, the car will throw check engine lights and codes, since there are no longer cat converters in place and the o2 sensors don't read the difference between upstream and downstream values. no real problems per say, but the dpfix will eliminate that so you don't see the CEL or SES lights constantly

Hi Bryce,

I gotten the DPFIX but the instructions is not very clear on the installation and it seems like it can only work with JB3.

If i was looking at say the catted macht schnell DP's or the ER's would I need to be worried about any codes? I run JB+ at half now, hadnt really thought about DP's before with this car, but I gotta say, Im sure the freed up 15-20+ whp would be tight. Def not going with catless because i dont wanna have to deal with all this shit, but even the catted ones, specially the smooth full 3" ones still have great hp and tq add's.

Every catless downpipe no matter the brand will require the o2 sim aka dp fix to eliminate the check engine line on the dash. However, if you choose the catted downpipes you will not need to purchase the o2 sim as it will not throw a code.

The new g4 coming out before christmas will solve your problem also. If u can deal with codes until then, buy it for half price of procede or if u have a jb3 already, upgrade for 80 bucks.

Fyi_ I have a friend who installed catted down pipes in his and then switched them out later for kittyless.... Not same at all
