What's this 'only fits m-sport/m-tech bumper' stuff? I honestly don't know what those are, and if I have them or not

If you have a 135i, then you have a m-sport/m-tech bumper. It's the gray part.

Unfortunately either many of the people on 1 addicts are new to modding and have no base line for quality / cost or parts quality went way down when I got it, but the Icarbon hype is overrated.

And as for inconsistencies, they should still have some kind of internal standard to meet, or do they just box it up and sell it regardless?

In any case, if this diffuser ends up working out I'll be selling my Icarbon one.
I agree. Every post I read when I purchased my iCarbon diffuser claimed that the pieces were perfect and on par with BMW carbon fiber quality. This isn't the case at all. There are two or three places where the weave is bunched up and the finish is not up to par. On the other hand, my BMW spoiler is literally perfect. I'm interested to see how the pieces from this company turn out..

A spoiler is a heck of a lot easier to manufacturer out of carbon fiber than a diffuser/hood/trunk are.

True, and maybe the iCarbon spoilers are closer to perfect than their diffusers are. However, the BMW spoilers, diffusers, mirror caps, etc. are all made perfectly so it's misleading when users and venders say that iCarbon is of equal quality to BMW or even higher. Sorry for the OT. Good luck with these parts hopefully they are a new affordable alternative.

maybe you just got a bad one, I've had my iCarbon diffuser for a while now and it still perfect. The weave is flawless but I know a few here and there were not perfect, did you try getting a new one from them?

Thumbs up Splitter Teaser

I got the splitters today!! The packaging was very well done. They came with a signed quality check sheet and some Scopione business cards. Each splitter was individually packaged. No blemishes in the epoxy that I can see. The weave looks pretty tight and straight, especially in the areas that will be visible. The epoxy seems impregnated very well and the pieces are strong, they don't feel flimsy. There are a couple tiny bubbles in the epoxy at one of the corners, but you have to look extremely close to see them. I will be installing them tonight and I will take lots of photos!!

... oh, and I did a test fit... they are going to look f'n awesome!!

I suggested to the company that they make trunk spoilers to compete with the OEM part and the crappy $200 CF imitations that don't fit well on the sides, and here is the response I got from Mike at Scopione USA:
Quote:
"Yes, we have been getting a high demand for the BMW 1 series parts, we just put a rush order on the diffusers, since as you know they are sold out.

We currently only offer the front splitters and the diffuser for the E82 and E88 BMW model, no trunk spoiler as of right now.
But Scopione has informed us that they are in the works on creating more parts for the 1 series (E82 & E88): such as the lip, spoiler and more.

We hope that www.ScopioneUSA.com to be your "one stop shop" for all of your carbon fiber parts and lights needs. Please stay tuned, it will be an interesting summer."
Interesting summer!? I can't afford an interesting summer!

Just called and spoke to them to b/c it said on their website price was only 170 haha...sorry guys but they'll be fixing the price, they seem like a legit company to me here initially. Anybody look up reviews for some of their 3 series stuff?

I just got a similar response after suggesting to them that they should make a full CF front lip. I recommended that they make a CF version of the Hamann front lip. I would be all over that like Lindsey Lohan on a necklace!

Just picked up some of their recommended 3M professional double-sided tape from O'Reilly. Can't wait to get these on the car!! Mike has been following the thread, but hasn't posted yet, obv. Scopione has informed them that they are working on a spoiler, grilles, badges, and more (hopefully that means full-front lip and hood(s)!!).... wider front fenders would be nice too!
