I used BMW's Route Planner to input the route that Artemis, Swadeness and Dackelone came up with. If your BMW is coded to allow you to import the routes to your Navi I can send you a link to download them.

Wrap job. It is wrapped in Santorini blue. Yes, the roof and mirrors are also wrapped in a grey color. Santorini blue is an AWESOME color. Especially bc it contrasts well in the lush green area up in the mountains/Alps. It's rare enough seeing a small convoy of 1M's tearing thru the Alps... but when ever someone would see that Blue 1M... he was the Star of the group! Like a Rock Star. It's a wrap too. Bundeswehr grün(green) flat color of the German army.

Hello Dackelone.
I congratulate you on the great photos you showed us your walk in these countries. Actually I really liked this post from the big stages of the houses, the gardens, how fabulous cars looked, the food is exquisite with these cakes and variety of them, I hope you enjoyed that. Thank you very much for sharing this with everyone.! Greetings to Germany.! |

If you're going to be in Europe for any leangth of time you should get it coded. Traffic updates on the Navi, the ability to use BMW Route Planner, European radio frequencies, the list goes on and on.

Awesome trips! I love getting off the 'beaten path' of the more famous hochalpenstrasse -- Grossglochner, Stelvio, Timmelsjoch, ... -- and into the less travelled areas. The Dolomites are wonderful, and full of little backroads, some more suited to SAVs than Ms with little ground clearance. Likewise parts of Slovenia. France also has some great mountain roads -- when they aren't cluttered with RVs...
I think it would be a ton of fun to put together regional travelog forums that combine the collective knowledge of Bimmerposters, regardless of type of BMW. It is unfortunate that 1addicts are separated from F8xers etc. This would be especially useful for European Delivery planning. IMO the little tours that BMW has put together are nice, but do not cater to the more adventuresome souls that want to see more than the usual tourist sites. Joop's group (see Viva Italia) has a number of awesome routes; combined with Dackelone's wild ones and others we could put together a fantastic database of the alpine roads.

I think that's a GREAT idea! We need to see what @Jason think about it. H Having a forum that shows up on each BMW forum(regardless of BMW type model), that we could make stickies for - would be nice. Dackel

Yes! The old organization could use a bit of rethinking. We need more cross links.
