Can 225M wheels fit my car?
Hey all,
Will the 19" 225M wheels fit on our cars? I like them and want to give them a shot. 8x19 front ET 37 9x19 back ET 39 If possible, what tire sizes would be available? Fenders are already rolled, and I'm on KW V1 coilovers. |

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure those offsets are too low for the 1er. They would poke front and rear. Stock offsets are 49mm front, 52mm rear.

With rolled fenders it should work. I mean it's the same as the VMR 18x9.5 et45 which a lot of members had on the car here. |

I would personally get four front wheels and put 1/2" spacers in the back with 245/35 sized tires. You may need camber in the front but I couldn't say for certain.

Front should be fine, rear may be borderline.

I think you are going to struggle with these. If they were 18" you could probably 'make the sizes work' with a set of 225 fronts and 235 rears. The 19" size will be more problematic than 18s, but not to say its impossible with fender modifications and camber. Though if it was me, I wouldn't do it.

yeah I overlooked the wheel size too. you would have to find 245/30 or you may get away with 235/35 I'm not familiar with popular 19" tire sizing.

Those wheels have a low/aggressive offsets for our cars but should fit as long as you don't overlower your suspension and assuming you use slightly stretched tires.
It actually will help you try to get the confusing math figured out somewhat. The higher the +ET/positive offset number, the more the wheel tucks in. It would seem that a spacer would help at times, but if you think about it, a spacer makes the wheels poke out more, so most of the time when someone mentions a spacer with our cars it will just make things worse. Also, wider wheels poke out further. So another way to look at it is these wheels are a half inch wider and have an offset around a half inch further poked out than the stock wheels so they will poke out around an inch total more than stock. However, many including me, run wheels that poke out very similarly. My wheels are listed in my signature, many of us have similar wheels. Mine have offsets 6mm more tucked in, but the wheel is a half inch wider, which is around 12mm wider which is 6mm on each side. That makes my wheels poke out pretty much the same as the wheels you are considering. I'm sure if you get those wheels and run 225/3519 and 245/35/19 Falkens or Toyos, it will fit. And those tires won't look as stretched (they will be moderately stretched) on those size wheels as they would on wheels a half inch wider.

I don't know what else to say, it's math. My wheels are 6mm wider on each side and have 6mm better offsets, my wheels and the wheels you proposed both poke out the same. There's a good calculator in the wheel section of the 335 portion of this website.

I know this is a fairly old thread, but just to comment, I'm running +35 front and +38 rear but on 18s, very mild negative camber, rolled fenders, and overtime I only have the ever slightest rub. I wouldn't do the 19s in that offset, but those wheels do look great.
