Rims!

So looking to get some rims asap for the car, what does everyone think would Some rims I'm considering: Volk TE37SL, RE30, CE28N or Work SSR Professor SP1.
Throw some other suggestions out there is you got them!

Are you thinking daily use or for the track?

Personally I think the stock rims are perfect for day to day driving. Likely look at a set of 18s for track use.

Does anyone have an idea how wide we can go in the back? Can we go as wide as the E92 guys? I'm considering a set of volk TE 37's, and I want to go as wide as possible without rubbing. Is 10.5 out of the question?

Love those breytons; though wonder bout going bigger than 19...Dave 72, would be great to see some pics when you get them on the car. I was thinking similar for mine.

20" ... damn you are crazy I guess you will not be trackday'ing your 1M ? Or at least not on the 20" !

I'm thinking of getting 18"
20" tires are much too expensive for my taste and tire-usage.

dont know about those JDM wheels on a bmw though?

maybe some ADVAN RS or RZ or maybe VR G2

but not the old TE37 style - those wheels should go on a skyline or 370z imo

Ahhhh, Advan RS wheels are used by the BMW World Touring Car Championship team, and I am absolutely putting them on my car. They're one of the lightest, best forged wheel you can buy and they look amazing! I used them on my old Subaru STi (and although I'll have to get a new set for my new 1M because of size and offset) you can bet that's what I'm going with for the new car.

Here's the link to Advan

And here's what they looked like on the STi:

Just an off Topic FYI. Advan wheels uses an advanced CASTING technique they call Flow-Forming, similar if not the same technology Enkei uses in the RPF1. Advans are great wheels and i had a set of RGII's on my STi but they are NOT forged.

Lots of great rims rocking the CSL style, but considering our stock rims are CSL, I figured I'd go with something different.
The advan's are great, but it's true that they aren't forged, and through some shopping I've done this week, there are some great deals on forged rims lately.
I love the Volk TE37's but I want to use our stock tires, no sense in wasting them, and 10.5 wide rims will stretch the tires too much for my taste.
Current front runners are either the Volk RE30's, a little concavity, a little lip /
Or Work's

Personally I would look at some 18's for track, and these IMO would be a nice choice!

I'd like to see some 19" BBS LM's on a 1M. I've looked at a few pictures in the other 1 series forums and I think they would suit the 1M down to the ground. The double lip that makes them a fraction small on M3's isn't the same problem because of the smaller footprint of the 1M.
