I have new front brakes and they are awesome

Finally wore out my front brakes. The idrive had been saying 1600kms to go for almost a year and probably 10,000kms, but when it started ticking down to 400kms and then in 10kms increments I knew it was time.

I got some BMWP cross drilled/ventilated discs from BMR some time back and some cool carbon pads. Got Advan to install and do the brake fluid at the same time for a fair price and we were away.

It took about 100kms to bed in as suggested by Peter, but now they feel great and look good as well. The best thing of course is that unlike my original BMW pad/disc combo there is no brake squeak (well not so far). I love driving with the roof down and the squeak would drive me mad!

Thanks Stu and Advan for making spring driving all the more pleasant.

Well no squeaking, which is good. Cold (once bedded in) they feel no different to stock. I've not had a chance to have a play yet so i can't give feedback on what they are like hot. Will try on the weekend if I can an report back. I have a nice gorge nearby that will get the heat in them.

I've had the brakes for about 1000kms now so I can give some more rounded feedback.

Cold pedal (end of the driveway) is worse than stock. You have to push the pedal a touch harder to get the car to stop.

On the move and warmed up there is no difference to stock, but I did get some squeaking out of them on Sunday when it was hot (33c) and I was using the brakes a little. But that dissapeared once they cooled down.

I need to give the car a proper fang and test them when hot, but so far it's all good and the dust seems a little less.

I've had Project Mu Euro Sports on my car for about 2,000km now. Love them. Considerably less dust than OEM and pull up super hard. No noise either.
