For the US market, I fully expect Active Autowerke in Miami to be the most prominent 335i tuner. They have the most complete line of in-house F/I solutions for the E36 and E46 right now.

Also, how will these mods fit in with the warranty. Twin turbo sounds really scary when you void the warranty

Extended warranty? I'd just get a mod chip once the warranty expires, and let her rip.

You are not following correctly...current 330 will cease production in August...new 335 will SOP September...335xi will SOP in March.

Got it Sorry for the confusion. I'm just clicking refresh wildly between multiple threads, here and at bimmerfest.

Man, 335 sedan this fall will be perfect. Since it's replacing the 330, the price won't be much higher. Although that coupe is looking better and better.

Heh heh. I'm so glad this press release came out today: it's my birthday The next best thing would be to actually get the car on my birthday.

Wait that doesn't make sense. No 330xi or 335xi means the xDrive sedan drops from 255 max HP engine to 230 max HP engine????

I will wait till I see something official before I believe that one.

You are misunderstanding too...

SOP Sept 328xi for both coupe and sedan
SOP March 07 for 335xi...sedan only

Okay so my question is what happens to xi sedan between Sept and March???? Max HP offered during that time drops from 255 hp to 230 hp???? That doesn't make sense to me ... there is still a market segment gap.

Don't know...I'm not focused on what happens with the xi...maybe they stretch out 330xi production?

I'm getting less and less focused on the 335 sedan now too...I just don't like the E90 styling in and out...leaning 06 M3...

BTW, your eyes are not deceiving you: there is indeed an AWD coupe on the way.
My bad! My bad!
I AM wrong.

I did NOT see the US info. and thus I am wrong.

I will still hold out that the 330i sedan will not be replaced by the 335i sedan.

Yes, that is cool that they will have an AWD coupe.

My 325 is an E46 and I'm returning it next month.
I was going with the E90 325i sport, but the 330 lease rates are too good to pass up.

It's not that I "care" per se. It seems that the sedans won't be changed until next year anyway. I'm just thinking that it doesn't make sense that the 330i sedan would be replaced so soon after BMW just released it. Afterall, the E90 sedn has only been out for about a year. Thus, I think the 335i sedan will be a high performance model. I use the BMW Euro engines as a source.
They are keeping the 330 coupe and adding the 335i.

Perhaps the US market is only going with 2 coupe variants?
I believe they drop the 2.5 liter Z4 and now have 2- 3.0 Z4's plus the M. Perhaps the coupes will stay with only 2 versions?
But, that's why I think the sedans will have 3 variants.

And, I don't see BMW competing in the near-luxury sport sedan market with a turbo model and not a normally aspirated model.
The twin turbo just sounds like something more for the higher performance enthusiast.
That's my take, and as you can see, I have been wrong in the past.

The 2007 330 sedan will cease this August?
I don't think so.
The 2006 330 ends production this May, and you can order a
2007 330i for June/July delivery.
So, why would BMW only have the 2007 330i sedan available for only 2-3 months? Makes no sense.
I don't believe it.

Hmm, you made some valid points RPM. It *is* possible that they add the 335 to the sedan lineup, like they did with the coupe lineup in Europe.

Also, it is possible they do that to move the coupe up-market, while keeping the sedan where it is. After all, the 6 is above the 5, and 3 coupe was originally conceived as a 4 series.

On the other hand, the 3-series sedan has become BETTER value for money over the years, accounting for inflation (source: Akhabaat). So it would be weird that the sedan has become better value and coupe has become more expensive.

Finally, they could have done with the coupe in the US, what they did in Europe: they could have kept teh 325 and the 330, and added the 335. But BMW faces less competition in Europe: no G35, and no IS350 right?

Thus, why differentiate the coupe only in the US? Since they made the coupe line-up a 328 and a 335, they might make the sedan line-up the same. Otherwise, they could have kept the US coupe line-up the same as the Euro coupe line-up: 325, 330, 335.

Finally, Greginaz's source has never been wrong

Are you sure it is 2007?

I don't think 2007 330 production has started...if there was still going to be a 2007 330 it would start production in September...but there won't because it will be a 335.
