At that time the metro station bombing had not taken place yet (that would happen at 9:11am).

As he could not board the metro, he walked towards his meeting place. When he passed the bombed metro station he noticed smoke/dust billowing out of the exit ("nasty smell"), saw injured people lying around on the sidewalk and experienced a panicky atmosphere. That moment, it dawned on him that the metro station had just been bombed. He was supposed to take the metro towards the bombed metro station and step off there to reach his meeting place.
Peace and love from all of us and our sincere condolences to those that lost friends and family. I hope this will end one day and it will only exist in the history books. Stay safe!

So where is @IEDEI, I'm not kidding. I know he was a bit contra new stuff etc, but come on.

Let's be honest 1M is the best thing BMW built since the M3 CSL. And still is. Until april 16th? <------QUESTION MARK

He was banned as well for calling out a vendor. I guess the truth doesn't set you free, it gets you exiled.

Papathova was my old friend that I used to talk with. This makes me sad.

Metak was another firebrand.
I loved that guy. He flat out said "The M2 will not be better than the 1M" like years ago. That boy rolled hard in the paint.

What is up with this forum lately? This is the most unrest I have seen here since the 1M post started.

Why are people comparing the 1M to the M2 in the first place? They are different cars and that's OK. We don't compare the 1M to say the e30 M3 right so why worry about what the M2 is doing here. Move to the M2 forums if you want to learn and comment about that car. Lets leave this post to 1M discussion please.

Metak is still around. He's now operating under the moniker mPlasticDesign. And the reason he sold his 1M was very noble: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=800379

Old skool 1M fellows, a few months ago I sold my 1M for a reason unrelated to the car, my wife, job or finance. It's related to my beloved father who recently died from a terminal illness. I ordered my 1M after his out-of-the-blue fatal diagnosis. Valencia Orange. Vivid. Life. In the ultimate stage of his life I decided - quite to my own surprise - to part ways with my 1M. It had to go. As soon as possible. He nailed it: "I know why you got a change of heart. But don't worry, my son, it's OK to let go." The 1M was like a ferry to cross the River Styx, a passage through a stage of life. I miss my father.

It's a natural comparison. The cars are so similar. Even BMW is calling the M2 a 1M "replacement." All the marketing pictures include the 1M for that reason.

I still stand by that statement. I think the engine is better in the 1M. The 1M and M2 have almost identical power specs with their overboost according to BMW. I am also pretty sure the 1M actually produces more power as BMW underrated the N54T. i prefer the N45T dual turbo setup over the single twin-scroll. The 1M's biggest problem was putting the power down. The wheelbase makes the 1M more challenging to drive than the M2 because of the shorter wheelbase(104.7in. vs. 106in.) The 1M weighs almost 100lbs lighter which in light of the huge deal made in the 150lb M4 weight loss over it's predecessor, seems the M2 is heading in the wrong direction. 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are almost identical. Looks are subjective but I prefer the 1M looks. The front air currents(first ever on any BMW) on the 1M look better than the M2 and the wheel arches on the 1M are insane! So it basically boils down to the superior track times the M2 is posting. The 1M held it's ground with the E9x M3 if you ignore the unusually low single Ring time that was posted. (see below) So I attribute any performance advantage the M2 might have to tires. The PS2 vs. the Pilot SS's. Not to discredit the engineering that went into the M2's suspension to overcome the added weight, the tires made a huge difference. Lastly the brakes. Those two items are the biggest difference and leap in performance. The tires are an easy cheap remedy and the brakes are a wear and tear item that need replacing anyways.

So "no", I don't think the M2 is "better", certainly not way better, especially when you consider how rare and unique the 1M is. It's the only car I wish I still had in my garage. If the forum member I sold my car to ever sells "my" 1M, I would like to be first in line to buy it back.

Yeah I got back into a very low mileage 2011 E90 M3 with only 1 option ZCP, slick top, manual cloth seats (I also owned a launch '08 E90M3) because it was easier for my son to get in and out of. I also prefer the steering feel in the E9x M3's over the e-steering in all the newer M cars. I am not too interested in any new/current BMW currently either.

Oh man, I just read this. Artemis, my dad was diagnosed with late stage stomach cancer. He has had surgery, chemo and radiation. Don't know how long we have, but every day is a gift. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Ran into IEDEI the other day. He was trying to reach out to the mods. Now found out he's banned for life!? That can't be right Jason?

It would be a shame if this forum looses all it's enthusiasts over having colorful opinions, that would be the way to loose flavor and in turn all moderate contributors and leeches .............................
