In the meantime the Alfa 4C continues to be interesting for me. I follow news and reviews of this car closely and now it is posible to use a proper configurator in the Italian web site which makes things even more exciting. Here is a video review, mostly on track, by Drive magazine with English subtitles. The reviewer definitely knows what he is talking about and knows how to drive as well. Check the acceleration test which ends up with a 4.17 sec. to 100 km/h and 16.05 to 200 which are better than 1M or a E92 M3 numbers (maybe M3 is as good or slightly better to 200..). In standard form this car seems to push a sub 4 second acceleration to 60 mph which is very respectable indeed. This is my favorite video and review of the 4C yet and tells me that it really can be a worthy replacement of the 1M especially on a track or twisty mountain road:

yeah, waiting for it, I did it on the GTR, so I'm doing the clear side on the Porsche also. Love the wheels, so easy to clean.

M2 is in the works, Oz. But you gotta wait for it. For now it's all about M235i. It will pass the floor to the King of the 2-Series in 2015/2016.
Look at what Scott26 wrote on Nov 5, 2013: "I have seen some early preliminary sketches although not respondent of what the car will look like but the creativity behind the visual aspects is underway. Engineering has already commenced. But I must repeat there will be an M2 but it is not coming tomorrow. For now this is the M235i's moment. The gap in both cars between will allow appetites to be whet and new ideas to be conceived and thoroughly evaluated. The gap will also allow the new M3 and M4 breathing space." http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=140 For some M2 renders: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=907562

Consider the Palatov D2. Rear-wheel drive, rear-engine, 1800lbs, 400-700hp, Porsche tranny, Chevy LS9 motor, no nannies. It's based on his mod-work where he mated a small block V8 to an Atom chassis. The guy is a personal friend and such a huge car guy that he decided to chuck in his day job and design cars that were enthusiast-only. His first production car was a tandem-layout AWD that won Pike's Peak on its first time out.
