Dealers taking names for next year's 1M???

My brother in law says his dealer has put his name on the list for next year's 1M. They claim they should come in mid-year, but don't have an exact date.

Did I miss an announcement? Everything I've read indicates that the 1M is one-and-done.

Jusy confirmed through BMW NA, the 1M will be available in the US in 2012, 2013 and onward, it will of course be a 2011 model, but it will be available......used.

I think the confusion stems from dealers being told back in early summer that there would originally a 2012 1M. My CA said that back then he was doing some of his required education that CAs have to do every quarter and there was a training video that was talking about what the changes would be in the 2012 1M. Then he was later told the 2012 wasn't happening.

I think some dealers must still be confused because originally there was supposed to be one to the extent that BMWNA even made training material. Then it was canceled.

Either way, my CA said mine was released to the carrier this morning from the port in Jersey. Should be ready for me to pick by Saturday!
