ABS/DSC/DTC Fault 130i
Hi All,
I have a 2006 pre facelift 130i and have had the ABS/DSC/DTC warnings show up in my dash (shown on photo). I've done some reading up and a failed ABS module appears to be a common fault on the E87 models. These warnings only show up intermittently, but have been staying on for several days before disappearing of late. Strangely, if I turn my wheel full lock to reverse out of a parking bay for instance, the warnings disappear. I'll obviously go and get things checked out to see what codes are thrown. Has anyone had a similar issue, and if so, what was the cause and fix? I understand it could just be a faulty wheel sensor. If so, how would this be diagnosed versus a failed ABS module? Any help/thoughts appreciated! |

I'd take the front wheels off and check there is no damage to the ABS sensor cable. Also if possible disconnect and re connect it in case there is a lose connection.
Hopefully that is all it is since going full lock removes the warning.

I have the same warning lights on my car except for the ABS sensor. And I have quoted BMW Trivett Classic to fix it and they're charging me 200p/hr to find the problem.. Not gonna go ahead and do that, but finding a cheaper alternative at the moment.

long shot, but have you had the battery disconnected at all recently? Our MX5 you have to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times to reset the steering angle sensors whenever the battery is disconnected.

No, haven't had the battery disconnected recently. I'll try the steering angle sensor reset anyway though. Cheers.
