Not yet mate. I think Skycat just sent it and I live in Darwin - I'm resigned to the fact that everything takes more than a week - including dinner at a restaurant sometimes!

I'm not too excited about this, it's only a few maintenance goodies for me, nothing like what you're expecting!

Hey Vinney,

I am glad you are pleased, as that is a no small feat.

As a result of the new Aeroflow "Full-Flow" hose ends used, there will be around 3 mm of additional clearance between the bottom of the 90 degree fitting and the front bar.

Do not worry it will install and fit up just fine.

Cheers,

JD.

Haha,

what made you think it would not be?

Guys please remember that I uninstalled and sold a Stett Stage 2 oil cooler kit, during the course of developing our Stage 1 & Stage 2 kits for the 135i.

The Stett Stage 2 kit was arguably the best kit on the market, I say "was" because ours is better.

I know so as our Stage 2 kit was engineered to address the deficiencies of the Stett kit, which IMHO we succeeded in doing.

Thanks Joe, when can we start pulling your car to bits to work up a 1M kit?

Thanks mate, you need to twist Zuzu's arm so we can get some hoist time on his VO beasty, to allow us to put in the R&D required for fabrication of a 1M kit.

Yes, forgot it might take an extra day or two. Hopefully it's not too far away mate.

Ok great. Peter said it will be fine so long as I don't hit anything

I'll be pleased once it's on my car and I've given it a good run, but I'm confident it's up to the task.

I do a lot of research before I put any mod onto my car and I try to do it right the first time

I agree, I think this is an improved version of the Stett kit which is already a great kit. I look forward to seeing how it holds up

Michael
Hi Michael,

I posted up the PM you sent me as your PM inbox is full and I could not send you a reply, I hope that is ok.

Yes you can certainly place an order for a Stage 2 oil cooler kit, but the GB pricing is finished.

The retail pricing for a Stage 2 unit is $1,295 inclusive of GST, plus shipping.

If you would like to go ahead with the purchase we can have a kit delivered to you, by this time next week.

Cheers,

Justin.

No problem.

With the jump in pricing, I can get the ER competition dual oil cooler kit for that price

Can you let me know the difference in the kits? I'm sure there are reasons why yours is better even though it has one less core.

Inbox is cleared if you want to PM

Michael

Hey Michael,

I could be wrong but I thought the ER dual oil cooler kit was $1,495 plus shipping from the US.

If you research the track data coming out of the US the best performing oil cooler kit is the Stett stage 2, not the dual cooler ER unit.

I am not a big fan of the ER competition kit to be honest and I believe they retain the use of the BMW OE thermostat, which is counter productive to say the least.

Whilst our kit uses one oil cooler not two, it's a high efficiency Setrab core that has 3.85 x the core volume of the OE cooler.

Our 82 degree Celsius external thermostat can also be dismantled for the purposes of cleaning, to ensure reliable operation the life of the kit.

Also the Aeroflow 550 Series -10 AN "Full-Flow" hose ends and fittings are very, very nice indeed.

They are superior in design and function to any other hose-end Peter has come across, in all his years of building race cars with custom made cooling solutions, so that is saying something.

If you have followed the evolution of our Stage 1 and Stage 2 oil cooler kits, I would like to think the design and workmanship of our Stage 2 kit in particular, speaks for itself.

It does not use a second oil cooler because we see no need, at a later date we may do a dual cooler Stage 3 135i kit, but at this point in time the requirement is not there.

Lastly here are a few more pics of the Advan performance Stage 2 oil cooler kit, that illustrate the design and workmanship I so proudly speak of.

Cheers,

JD.

Mate, I have no affiliation or involvement with Advan, except for conversing with Justin on the forum and a few calls to Peter (Skycat).

That said, I can absolutely guarantee that these guys really know what they are doing and would have developed the best possible solution out there for our conditions. They are also extremely personable and Peter wasted a lot of his valuable time talking me through so much stuff - really appreciate it mate!

They will provide you a product and support that I really don't think anyone else can at the moment. I have read up on a few cooling solutions and nothing comes close to this. The workmanship speaks of itself in the pictures.

I was part of the group buy but failed to mention the 1M bit! Now Peter and Justin are designing a system for the 1M. Definitely willing to put my money where my mouth is on this one!

Do it!
