FS: Apex ARC-8 wheels and Yokohama AD08 track setup

Front 18x8.5 et 38mm
255/35/18

Rear 18x9.5 et 62mm
265/35/18

Apex ARC-8s are the ultimate high performance application for the 1 Series, with optimized offsets to allow maximum wheel and tire width.

Everything was purchased new in Jan '11, and they have 4 autocrosses on them (approx 1,500 mi). You can see that the AD08s wear extremely well and have substantial tread left. The wear triangles are still intact on all tires.

You'll need camber plates to fit the front wheels, and a fender roll is recommended. With my stock suspension, I had to do some minor plastic liner tab trimming and professional fender pulling, which wouldn't be needed for someone with an aftermarket, adjustable coilover setup (height and dampening can be tailored for a perfect fit). Even on my car with stock shocks and springs, the setup didn't rub on track, but would rub on large dips heading to the events, though it was nothing major.

One wheels has a few knicks near the lug bolts (see pic). They are track wheels, after all. Otherwise, they're in excellent condition and nearly new.

If i was in the market for a second set, i'd be all over this.

Entirely speculative and impossible...

If I lived in the area, would you consider renting the set to me for a weekend to try out the AD08 difference? That would be a great way to test run the different brands. I love the star specs, but i'd love more to be sure.

Email responded to.

Tires have good tread depth. I measured them and estimate 65-70% tread life remaining.

bump for a great guy! If we didn't have three sets of wheels/tires for the 135i, I'd be all over this.

I'll make it easier on you. The AD08s turn faster lap times than the Star Specs. It's been documented by Tire Rack, and I can tell you from my experience using both they're a better ultra high performance tire and I've found have better wear characteristics.
