Another question
Just ordered my car last week. I have a production number, but obviously have no idea when this car will be produced or on a ship.
Anyway, my dealer is asking me what date I would like to schedule the delivery at the performance center. I want to say "tomorrow". How does scheduling your Performance Center delivery work? do you wait until your car is on a ship? Thanks! |

Your significant other gets to participate in everything. They get the exact same amount of seat-time that you do. My wife LOVED it! It made the whole experience that much better. If you're going to do the Tail, you should definitely check out the Cherohala Skyway as well. I actually preferred the Skyway over the Tail, it's a lot more wide open sweepers with less traffic and less cops!! Just as an option for some of you... airfare from Houston to Greenville was going to be in the neighborhood of $450 each for my wife and I (one way!). We opted to fly into Ashville, NC ($99 each) and rented a car one-way for $25. It's about a 30 - 40 minute drive but it saved us a ton of money!! Just something to look at if you have the same problem.

You should call them right away to make sure, it does need to be done fairly early in the process but I would think at this point you should still have plenty of time.

Where is your car in the production process? I called my CA yesterday and he wasn't sure we could do it. Mine got on a boat today.

I was told by my CA that once it's on the boat, the destination paperwork has already been processed so it may be tough to get them to change it. It can't hurt to ask though.

My CA just got back to me. Sounds like it may be able to be rerouted once it gets to the VPC. I'm going in on Monday to do all the paperwork and set it up!

I requested PCD when ordering the car and got my date assignment when I was on the ship. They offered a specific date about 6 weeks out and said they could try to fit +/- 10 days. I believe they only operate M-F, Friday being the busiest.
Bimmerfest forums has a dedicated sub-forum for the topic; it is monitored by PCD staff who will answer specific questions.
